Since April 22 of 1999, many practitioners from Chong-qing City have gone to Beijing to appeal for the righteousness of Falun Dafa. Most of them got detained. The police threatened that practitioners would be detained or sentenced if they went to Beijing.
Early in the morning of April 16th, Sunday, more than 20 Dafa practitioners got together in Columbia to join the first meeting of English group study and experience sharing in Missouri.

Falun Gong practitioners Jiang Chao-hui and Zhang Ke, the two major organizers of Falun Gong press conference and Guang-zhou experience sharing conference were sentenced with 3 years of imprisonment. Another practitioner who attended the news conference as the interpreter, Ms. Lei Xiao-ting, was sentenced with 2 years of imprisonment.
