On July 20, with the full support of members of Ontario’s Provincial Parliament, practitioners in Toronto held their first press conference and luncheon in the parliament building. During the press conference, practitioners delivered a statement describing in detail the persecution endured by Falun Gong practitioners in China. They reiterated their desire to establish an open dialogue with the Chinese government in order to resolve the crisis peacefully, and called upon all people of the world to support their efforts.

on July 20, 2000, practitioners from Calgary and Edmonton went to the Chinese Consulate in Calgary to peacefully appeal for Falun Dafa.

In order to let more people know about Falun Dafa, practitioners in Melbourne, Australia have, with the support of some local libraries, set up special displays inside these libraries to introduce Falun Dafa books.
Around 40 members of the Falun Gong movement have marched on the Chinese Embassy in Canberra.
The peaceful protest marks the first anniversary of the Beijing Government' crackdown on the group, which human rights groups claim has cost 22 lives.
