[China] "Ruling by Law" Changed to "Ruling by Secret Documents"
It was stated in some secret documents that Falun Gong practitioners would be specially treated. The 15 days of administrative detention would be prolonged to 30 days for detaining Falun Gong practitioners.
Wang Ying is the 14-year-old daughter of Ms. Bai Lili, a practitioner from Beijing. Ms. Bai Lili got arrested when practicing Falun Gong on the Tiananmen Square on the eve of Chinese New Year (February 4). Later she was sent to the detention center of the police station of Dong-cheng district and has not yet been freed.
On December 26, 1999, Ms. Zhang Shu-qi was illegally arrested by Beijing police just because she wanted to audit the show-trial of the four former major contact people of Falun Gong in Beijing. She was detained for 20 days afterwards. She lost her consciousness within an hour after she returned home from the detention center. She died on the next day. The cause of her death was unknown.
