Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionateáreminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

• Hebei Province Chongli County Committee member, and "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) leader Liu Haibin had been recklessly persecuting Dafa and Dafa practitioners since July 20, 1999. When one person commits evil, the whole family cannot escape disaster: Liu's mother, elder sister and brother in law all developed cancer one after another.
• In July 2002, Zhang Tingxi, the vice stationmaster in Hebei Province Chongli County Epidemic Prevention Station volunteered to carry out orders from the "610 Office." When he was on his way to arrest a Dafa practitioner from the same workplace, he fell down the stairs and fractured his leg. He still did not awaken and started to curse Dafa; immediately he found that his femur fractured as well. From then on, his mother in law would tell whomever she met: "People must not persecute Dafa practitioners or curse Falun Gong; otherwise they will receive retribution!"
• In August 2001, a Dafa practitioner clarified the truth of Falun Gong to three of his fellow students. Liu thought that one should have the freedom of belief, but Fan started to slander Dafa, and Yang backed him up. Neither would listen to the Dafa practitioner when he repeatedly urged them not to defame Dafa. Recently, Fan passed away. On his way back from Fan's funeral, Yang received the news that his wife had been hit by a car. We strongly advise those who are still deceived by the evil to immediately stop slandering Gods and Buddhas and persecuting Dafa before it's too late.
• In March 2000, the local government in Huashan Town, Pinggu District, Beijing City organized a brainwashing session in Huashan Theatre. Female Dafa practitioner Zhang Xuerong was watched closely by Fan Yongfen from Zhuanwayao Town. Zhang tried to persuade Fan to be good, and told her examples of retribution people had received for the bad deeds committed in the same lifetime. However, Fan did not pay any attention. Ten days later, Fan suddenly died during the night following a hemorrhage. The 38 year old Fan had been healthy all her life. Fan's family and neighbors were all strongly affected by it; they all knew that this was the consequence of cooperating with the evil to monitor Dafa practitioners.
• In April 2000, the same Huashan local government organized yet another brain washing session in a Huashan Theatre, during which Shi Zuoping (female, 50 years of age) monitored Dafa practitioners for 5 days. At the time, Dafa practitioners explained to her the causal relationship and why good would be rewarded and evil punished. But Shi thought otherwise and declared that she was not afraid of death. Two days later, the natural gas tank at her house suddenly caught fire, although fortunately the house was undamaged. After that, she dared not persecute Dafa practitioners any more.
• The Public Security director, Mr Liu Yin of Zhuanwayao Village in suburban Beijing, fifty some years of age, was responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong. In early August 2002, he was suddenly discovered to have gastric perforation. He was admitted to the Wangxin Village Hospital in Pinggu District, and underwent surgery.
