(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, at least 6 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 21 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Wuhu City, Anhui Province] Mr. Jin Gangzhu and Ms. Lu Donghui Arrested
At around 1 p.m. on October 7, 2009, police officers arrested Mr. Jin Tinkui, Ms. Jin Fuying, Mr. Jin Gangzhu, and Ms. Lu Donghui in the No. 3 Limin Residential Area, the Gejiang District, Wuhu City. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books, bank deposit certificates, cash, DVD burners, and printers. Mr. Jin Gangzhu and Ms. Lu Donghui's nine-year-old daughter was left on her own.
2. [Chongqing City] Ms. Jia Guozhen and Her Husband Liu Lirong Arrested
On October 10, 2009, Ms. Jia Guozhen and her husband, Mr. Liu Lirong, from Xianglong Township in the Hechuan District were arrested by about a dozen officers when visiting a relative in Pengnan Township, Pengxi County, Suining City. The officers were from the Pengnan Township Police Sub-station. Wang Kaisheng, the police chief, was in charge of the arrest.

3. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Li Haiying and Her Mother Arrested
Ms. Lin Haiying from Kunming City was arrested during April 2009 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor and detained at the Dapanqiao Forced Labor Camp.
Her mother, Ms. Li Ruihua, 69, was arrested for telling officers about Falun Gong and taken to the Wuhua District Police Bureau. Her home was ransacked many times. Ms. Li Ruihua is being held at the Dapuji Detention Center, Kunming City.
4. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhou Huimin Tortured at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Zhou Huimin from Anshan City was reported for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Officers from the Lingshan Police Substation in the Lishan District arrested her. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor. At Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, guards and personal cangues brutally tortured her. She can no longer walk upright. Her sentence has been extended several times and family visits are not allowed.
5. [Shenyang City, Laioning Province] Mr. Yu Yang's Health Deteriorating
Mr. Yu Yang from the Shenhe District in Shenyang City was secretly arrested by officers from the Tiexi District State Security Bureau on July 14, 2009. He was sentenced to one year and nine months of forced labor. He was taken to the Shenxin Forced Labor Camp on August 28, 2009. He went on a hunger strike to protest his detention and his health is deteriorating.
6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Professor Liu Ronghua Arrested
Ms. Liu Ronghua was arrested by officers from the Qingniwa Police Station on September 23, 2009. She is detained at the No. 3 area of the No. 7 Building at Yaojia Detention Center.

7. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Shuhua Arrested
Ms. Li Shuhua, in her 50s, is from Shidongzigou, Chengde City. She was arrested at home by officers from the Chengde City State Security Bureau.
8. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Aidong and Ms. Li Baozhu Arrested
Ms. Zhang Aidong, Ms. Li Baozhu, and other practitioners were arrested before or after October 1, 2009.
9. [Jianyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Shi Tianqing and Ms. Wu Binju Arrested
On September 3 and 9, 2009, Ms Shi Tianqing from Miwang Village, Jiancheng Township, and Ms. Wu Binju, in her 60s, were arrested by officers from the Jianyang Police Station. Ms. Shi is detained at the Er'e Brainwashing Center, Ziyang City. Ms. Wu's whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Fengming Arrested
Ms. Liu Fengming was arrested at work in the morning on October 10, 2009, by officers from the Yushu City State Security Bureau.
11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information Concerning Ms. Chen Weiyi's Arrest
Ms. Chen Weiyi, in her 40s, owned a booth in a market. She sold groceries. On September 22, 2009, five police officers and four patrol officers arrested her at work and confiscated all her goods, worth over one thousand yuan.
12. [Jiutai City, Gansu Province] Mr. Wu Tonglin on Hunger Strike for Two Months
Mr. Wu Tongli is being held in Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp. He conducted a two-month hunger strike. Those in charge refused to release him.

13. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Wenxiu Arrested
At 5 p.m. on September 15, 2009 officers from the Changyi State Security Bureau and the city police department broke into Ms. Li Wenxiu's home in Xiaonanmeng Village, Beimeng Township. They took her to the Zhangxin Village Brainwashing Center in Li Jaibu Township, Changyi City.
14. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Meiling Arrested
Ms. Liu Emiling, in her 40s, is from Ximiaohou Village, Longwangzhuang Township, Laiyang City. Police officers arrester her when she was handing out Falun Gong materials at 9 p.m. on October 9, 2009. They ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and materials.
15. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Mr. Guo Zixiang Arrested
Police officers from the Linqing City State Security Bureau in Shandong Province and officers from the Daxinzhang Police Station broke into Mr. Guo Zixiang's home in Shichangtun Village on September 26, 2009. They confiscated personal belongings and 600 yuan. Mr. Guo was arrested and is now in the Linqing City Detention Center.
16. [Huangmei County, Anhui Province] Ms. Mei Huanzhi and Ms. Hu Arrested
At 1 p.m. on October 6, 2009, Ms. Mei Huanzhi and Ms. Hu from Dahe Township, Huangmei County, were reported for distributing Falun Gong materials at Liwan in Yong'an Village, Dahe Township. They were arrested and taken to the Dahe Police Station. Ms. Hu was released at 9 p.m., but Ms. Mei was Huanzhi taken to the county's Shili Detention Center.
17. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhai Mingjun Not Released
Mr. Zhai Mingjun from Sanjiang Township, Changtu County, has been detained in the Benxi City Forced Labor Camp for over three years. His health has deteriorated and he is mentally traumatized. He contracted pneumonia, pleurisy, and heart disease and is emaciated.
On October 4, 2009, Mr. Zhai's wife went to the Benxi Forced Labor Camp to pick him up. Camp officials informed her that his term was extended for another month and a half.
18. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Ju Zhaohong Taken to a Brainwashing Center
Ms. Ju Chaohong from Meichuan Township, Wuxue City, was reported for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to a brainwashing center. The guards tied her up and injected her with unknown drugs, slapped her face, pulled her hair, and stuffed dirty rags into her mouth.
19. [Chongqing City] Mr. Yu Jinpig Arrested and Home Ransacked
Mr. Yu Jinping is retired from Daojiao Chemical Factory in Chongqing City. He was arrested on September 30, 2009, and his home was ransacked.
20. [Jingshan County, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Daowen and Mr. He Wuping Arrested
Between September 20 and 24, 2009, Mr. Zhang Daowen, who worked in Jingshan County, and Mr. He Wuping were arrested by local police. Their whereabouts are unknown. Their homes were ransacked and their computers were confiscated.
