Mr. Liu Zecun, a practitioner from Chang'anzhuang Village, Loucun Township, Laishui County, started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. Through Fa study and cultivation practice, his health greatly improved. Since July 20, 1999 when the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong, Mr. Liu Zecun has been telling people about Falun Gong and handing out materials exposing the persecution.
On March 10, 2006, Mr. Liu Zecun and other practitioners were arrested in Shidu Town, Fangshan District, Beijing. Officers from the Shidu Town Police Station and a group of local thugs beat them until these practitioners lay in a pool of blood and couldn't even utter a word. Later, the police carried them into police cars and took them to the Shidu Police Station.
At the police station, officers interrogated Mr. Liu Zecun and other practitioners with torture, and tried to force them to reveal where they got the materials. The practitioners refused to answer. Mr. Liu Zecun was kicked in the chest and had one of his teeth knocked out by the interrogators.

They were allowed only one visit to the restroom each day. Though the weather was still frigid, 50 basins of cold water were poured on each of them every day. They were forced to sit on a board for seven hours each day. During the twenty days they were in the detention center, officers from the Fangshan District Police Bureau interrogated Mr. Liu Zecun and other practitioners with torture nine times.

Ten days later, Wang and Dai took practitioners to the hospital and had them injected with unknown drugs. Later, Sun Guijie took them to the Laishui County CCP School.
At the Party School, all of the practitioners did the exercises, recited the Fa and went on hunger strikes to protest against the persecution together. Sun Guijie, Zhang Haili, Wang Fucai and Dai Chunjie found that it was difficult to force them to give up Falun Gong, so they asked officials from towns and villages to take the practitioners back. Ms. Liu Yuelian and Ms. Zhao Xilan were placed under arrest in a small room at their local township. Ms. Liu and Ms. Zhao went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.
