(Minghui.org) The wicked Communist Party launched a full-scale persecution against Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Countless Chinese people were deceived by the slanderous propaganda and became full of hatred against practitioners. Out of ignorance, those Chinese people also took part in the persecution. They abused practitioners and defamed Master. However, another group of people understood the truth. When faced with the choice between good and evil, they stood on the side of justice and tried their best to protect Dafa practitioners.
When I was persecuted in the prison, again and again, I was deeply touched by the righteous choices made by those people. It's really unforgettable.
In prison, it was a great happiness to have a copy of Teacher's lecture. When I was arrested and taken to the detention center, a prisoner helped another practitioner pass on her lectures to me before she was sent to the forced labor camp. At one time when I was reciting the lecture, a female guard saw what I was doing. With an electric baton in hand, the guard very angrily came towards me, snatched the lecture from my hand and was about to shock me. At that very moment, a prisoner ran over and stood in front of me. When the electric baton landed on her body, she screamed. At the same time, another prisoner also went up and took the lecture out of the guard's pocket. A third, an elderly prisoner, talked to the guard in a very gentle manner, and asked the guard not to get angry. She also said: “How nice these practitioners are!” They all asked the guard to give us some time to do the exercises. Later on, that guard changed. Whenever she was on guard, we could do the exercises freely. When it was 12 a.m., she would come to our cell, knock on the window, and put her hand upright in front of her chest to remind us to send righteous thoughts. There was another guard who helped the practitioners to deliver lectures and protected Dafa books, especially when the practitioners or their cells were being searched.
When I was transferred from the detention center to the prison, I also met a lot of inmates who offered me great help, especially the one who was told to monitor my daily activities. Because she didn't try to interfere with me, I was able to send forth righteous thoughts, recite the Fa or transcribe the Fa. One of the inmates often helped us deliver Master's lectures. Once she told us that she was a Buddhist, and when we reach Consummation one day, she hoped we could meet again in the heavenly paradise. At that moment, I was touched and cried.
On January 5, 2001, an inmate named Jia was verbally abused and shocked with electric batons by a prison guard because she helped practitioners deliver lectures. The prison guard forced her to abuse Dafa and Master. She firmly refused to do so. She told me later: “They told me to abuse Master, how can I abuse Master?” I was so touched by her words that I also cried. If people can learn the truth even in such an evil environment like prison, we Dafa disciples didn't suffer in vain.
I remembered two days after I was sent to prison, the CCP started to broadcast the Tiananmen self-immolation hoax nationwide. All the inmates were gathered together and the prison guard played the slanderous self-immolation hoax video. The prison guard arranged Jia to sit closest to the screen. Afterwards, when they went back to their cells, everybody was told to criticize Falun Gong. The prison guard told Jia to talk first. They said, “You saw the news, now you should believe that Falun Gong is evil.” Jia answered: “Isn't what we just saw a scripted show? How can I believe what they said on TV?”All of the prison guards were surprised at what she said. After a while, in order to pressure her, they said, “Well now, you should be expecting to stay here for the rest of your life.” From then on, Jia was also monitored by them.
When one prisoner helped me deliver the lectures, she was found by the prison guards and taken away and interrogated. The prison guard threatened her with an electric baton in order to coerce her to abuse Falun Gong or to give them more information about the practitioners. The entire time she was being threatened she kept silent. Later, they did not assign her to monitor me anymore. The prison also deprived her of opportunities to reduce her sentence term. After I was detained in a solitary confinement cell, the prison guard stood her in front of me and forced her to abuse me. They said that I caused her to lose the opportunity to reduce her sentence. She stood there, looked at her feet and didn't say a word. Actually, what the prison guards ordered her to do was not only to verbally abuse me, but to also beat me. She didn't do any of that. Instead, she remained very peaceful and looked at me quietly, and there was no hatred in her eyes.
The darkest and most evil time has passed. Those people who understood the truth and held fast to their conscience have already chosen the best future for themselves.
