(Minghui.org) Upon learning that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had been manipulating its followers to interfere with and harass people at the truth clarification sites in Kong Kong, I decided to go there to help spread the facts about the persecution and save sentient beings. Two other practitioners and I went together.
Truth Clarification Site in Lok Ma Chau
When we were approaching the site by bus, we saw that the bus stop, from the ground to the stands, was covered with banners defaming Dafa. Several members of the Hong Kong Youth Care Association Limited (HKYCA, a private organization associated within the CCP) were walking up and down the street.
The three of us tried to find a clean place to sit down to meditate, but the HKYCA members came over, verbally harassed us, and played the CCP brainwashing recordings at high volume. When we were talking with tourists and passersby about Falun Gong and the persecution, the HKYCA members tried to stop us with deceptive patriotic slogans, attempting to legitimize their illegal behavior.
Their harassment of Falun Gong practitioners and defamation of the spiritual practice are in violation of the law in Hong Kong, as Falun Gong is a registered organization protected by Hong Kong laws.
As practitioners, we believe that people who are doing evil in the human world are sometimes controlled by forces in other dimensions. At the Lok Ma Chau site, I saw evil forces causing trouble and damage to Dafa and its practitioners at many levels and dimensions. The forces at a low level were harassing practitioners by stealing their banners and harassing them. When practitioners tried to defend themselves, the evil forces at a higher level videotaped the scene for the purpose of falsifying evidence. The forces at an even higher level were controlling the whole situation. However, for those practitioners whose righteous thoughts were steadfast and strong, the evil forces dared not get close, for fear of being disintegrated. The practitioners whose righteous thoughts were not as strong were being targeted.
When I was compassionately clarifying the truth to these CCP followers, they interrupted and interfered with me rudely and irrationally. My compassion wavered and I almost wanted to fight with them.
After a full day of talking about the facts and the persecution of Falun Gong, I felt tired and thirsty. On the way to our accommodations, fellow practitioners and I discussed the state of “bravery and righteousness,” which made me re-consider my way of clarifying the truth, and I thought about how I could do it better and with greater harmony. We later studied “Buddha-Nature and Demon-Nature” (in Essentials for Further Advancement), and I realized that the purpose of cultivation is to eliminate our demon-nature and enrich our Buddha-nature.
Re-visiting Lok Ma Chau
After discussing things with fellow practitioners, I enlightened to the fact that, besides clarifying the truth to those people, we could use legal means to stop the interference. So when we went to the Dafa site in Lok Ma Chau, I started video-recording the defamatory banners all over the place to collect evidence for a possible lawsuit. After that, I continued talking to tourists, many of whom were from China, about the facts of Falun Gong in a peaceful manner.
Practitioners from both Hong Kong and Taiwan discussed and shared their opinions and experiences on how to handle the evil interference. The key point was that we had to be able to maintain a compassionate state of mind even when facing the outrageous harassment of the CCP-controlled group. Our energy field, strengthened by our strong, positive collaboration with each other, was so powerful that a tourist from China who was resting beside us wrote and left us a note, saying, “I hope the Taiwanese government brings liberation to China and returns freedom to Falun Gong practitioners in China.” But politics is not the pursuit of Dafa practitioners, and we do not rely on particular individuals or organizations to bring about justice for us. We play the key role in this anti-persecution movement in which we aim to save as many sentient beings as possible.
Eliminating Human Attachments
On our last day in Hong Kong I took the subway back to where I was staying and saw an attractive woman in the same car. I said to myself, “I have been in Hong Kong for quite a few days but have never seen such a pretty woman.” The train arrived at my stop, and I got off. Right in front of me were several other women who were also prettier than average. I was alerted—why had I suddenly run into these women? What did this mean in terms of my cultivation? I then recalled what I said to one of the key members from the HKYCA when clarifying the truth, “No need to get mad, especially someone as pretty as you.” Because I had talked from the perspective of everyday people instead of with righteous thoughts, the evil forces in the other dimension seized my attachment of lust and arranged for these pretty women to test me, to cause trouble for me. This incident reminded me that cultivation is serious, and I must watch out for any human attachments that are present unconsciously in my actions.
At the Shui-Nan Airport
A female practitioner from a different group joined us on the way back to Taiwan. The practitioner was older than us, had limited education, and walked slowly. I said to my companions in a joking way, “Teacher is arranging for us to escort her home.”
Our flight arrived at the Shui-Nan Airport at around 1:00 a.m., but we didn't see the female practitioner come through customs. From what she had told us in Hong Kong, I knew that she would not be able to get home from the airport on her own.
It was late and we were all exhausted, plus we still had a 40-minute drive home, so we didn't spend much time waiting or looking for the older practitioner and went to find our cars in the parking lot. However, my car refused to start. I got help from someone nearby to try to start the engine, but nothing worked. Then I asked the airport customer services for a jump-start, which wasn't successful, either. In the end, I had to call a towing service to tow my car to a repair shop in my hometown. It was around 2:00 a.m. when I finally got home.
The next day I discussed this incident with another practitioner from the trip. We realized that Teacher did arrange for us to take that female practitioner home, but we were so selfish that we only thought of getting home quickly to rest, leaving behind the elderly practitioner who didn't know the way home late at night. Our car not being able to start was a hint about our selfishness. Now I feel so embarrassed for my wrongdoing.
My enlightenment about this trip to Hong Kong was about collaboration among practitioners. Because evil forces were present in different forms at various levels and places, practitioners' slightest shortcomings were utilized by evil forces to disintegrate and weaken practitioners' collective power. Only when we collaborated well with each other through self-discipline based on Dafa's teachings and encouraged each other for mutual growth could we overcome all difficulties and trouble. This is what frightens the evil most.
