(Minghui.org) A trial hearing was held at Dongning County Court in Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province on June 27, 2012 for eight Falun Gong practitioners, including Xu Yili. Five lawyers appeared in court to defend the practitioners and pleaded not guilty. The court has yet to announce the verdict.
On the night of January 9, 2012, officers from Daohe Town Police Station arrested seven Falun Gong practitioners: Xu Yili, Cao Wenbo, Ms. Lu Yulan, Ms. Zhang Guiqin, Xiao Hua, Wang Xihe and Liang Junzhi. They were held at the Dongning Detention Center. The police then ransacked their homes on the morning of January 10.
Family members of the arrested practitioners went to the local 610 Office and domestic security division requesting the release of the practitioners, but to no avail.
On the morning of February 2, family members then went to the public security bureau to demand their release. Zhao Zhandong, the deputy director of the public security bureau, became very angry and arrested Miao Fu, a practitioner who accompanied them. Miao was also taken to the Dongning Detention Center, and police ransacked Miao's home that same night. Miao's elderly mother in her seventies was frightened and couldn't sleep at night.
