(Minghui.org) I am an 85-year-old retired medical doctor. I had worked for 42 years in both military and local hospitals before I retired. My wife practiced Falun Gong, which I neither objected to nor encouraged. I believed only in science and medicine. Although I did not have a religious belief in Falun Gong, it saved my life three times in 2012.

Cancer miraculously cured

I checked into a hospital in March 2012 because of heart disease. During the physical examination I was also diagnosed with prostate cancer, which had spread to my bladder. The department chairman talked about my prognosis in detail with my wife. He said, “He is 84 years old. It is going to be very risky to operate on him. Besides, it is not going to solve the problem completely because we won't be able to remove all cancer cells. I recommend that you consider a less aggressive treatment for him.” My wife did not tell me about this because she did not want me to worry. She then consulted with a highly respected traditional medical doctor who said, “If he does not have surgery, he will not be able to urinate eventually. By then it will be too late to operate.” Finally my family decided that I should have surgery.

My wife decided to tell me the truth if I was going to have surgery. I was devastated once I read all the reports. As a doctor, I knew very well the pain and the outcome I would face.

My wife tried her best to comfort me, but she also said, “You are a doctor. You know very well there is no cure. Falun Gong is full of miracles. Only the founder of Falun Gong can save your life now. Keep reciting 'Falun Gong is good' and 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good' and Teacher will save your life.” She then told me a lot of stories of people whose lives were saved by Falun Gong. I even knew some of these people.

I had the surgery in June. The doctor removed the tumors in my bladder, but they left the tumors in my prostate untouched. The doctor did a scan and found tumors in my jaw bone, occipital bone, ribs and spine. I lost hope completely when I saw the scan. I was very depressed and hardly ate. I lost over 10 lbs. during the three weeks in the hospital. My wife was a rock. She calmly suggested, “Let's go home. Let's start studying Falun Gong books.”

I must say I felt lost and didn't know what to do.

It couldn't hurt to try, so I started reciting “Falun Gong is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” every day. My wife also encouraged me to study Zhuan Falun, Falun Gong's main text. She said that I would never know what it could do for me unless I tried it.

She gave me a copy of Zhuan Falun. I began to study two to three lectures every day. Then a miracle happened in about two weeks. My appetite returned. My legs became stronger. I felt much more energetic. In fact, I gained more than 10 lbs. in four weeks.

I returned to the hospital in September 2012 for post-surgery checkup. My doctor was astonished when he saw the new scan results. He looked at it repeatedly, but he couldn't find the cancer cells in the scan. He saw only two on the scan, but they were very faint. He wanted to know if I had taken any special treatment or special medicine. They found it incredible.

I had a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test in January 2013. I was pleasantly surprised at the result. My PSA level was 108.1 ng/ml before the surgery, but now it was 0.56 ng/ml – just six months after the surgery! A PSA below 2.5 or 3 ng/ml is a normal value. I was completely cured!

Saved again

Then on an evening in February 2013, I suddenly felt my heart constricting and I had difficulty breathing. My son immediately sent me to the hospital emergency room. My pulse dropped to 40 and my blood pressure to 50. My wife urged me to ask Teacher for help. I shouted out loud, “Teacher! Please save me!” I shouted a few times and then I was able to breathe again.

But my heart was failing again after ten minutes. I felt I was losing my mind, sight and hearing. My wife urged me to ask Teacher for help again. I struggled to shout, “Teacher! Please save me!” Then I came back slowly. I was in ER, but they did nothing but monitor my heart rate. It was not until my heart was working normally again that they gave me a shot to stimulate my heart. Teacher saved me from death twice that night.

My family and I have immense gratitude towards Teacher for saving my life. My family, relatives and friends, about 30 in total, have witnessed the miracles of Falun Gong manifested in me. They sincerely believe that Falun Gong is good.

I had already quit the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Youth League, being a former member. More than a dozen of my relatives have also quit the CCP and/or its two affiliated student leagues. My uncle decided to practice Falun Gong and has obtained a copy of Zhuan Falun. My son has started studying Zhuan Falun as well. My grandson, who is in college, kowtowed to Teacher's photo and thanked Teacher for saving my life. He has even memorized “Lunyu” in Zhuan Falun. He promises to recite it often.

I am a doctor. I used to be narrow-minded and believed only in science and medicine. This experience has transformed my belief. I may be a doctor, but it was Mr. Li Hongzhi that saved my life. I no longer think that Falun Gong is superstition. It is capable of enabling its practitioners to uplift their morality levels and restore their health. It is also capable of saving their lives.

Now that I am studying Zhuan Falun, I know how profound it is. It is a Buddha School cultivation practice based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It teaches its practitioners to cultivate kindness and become better people. Every Falun Gong practitioner that I know aspires to become a truly kind person.

I would like to urge everyone in China to save yourself from the lies of the CCP. The CCP created those lies about Falun Gong in order to justify its suppression and to instigate people's hatred towards it. Please try to understand Falun Gong. Quit the CCP and you shall be spared the same fate that awaits the CCP.

Finally, my family and I would like to thank Teacher again for saving my life!
