(Minghui.org) Today my general manager proudly told me what she had said to several agents from the 610 Office when they tried to probe her about me: “What's wrong with people practicing Falun Gong? It would be great if everyone did!” They left, disappointed at being unable to dig up any evidence to use to persecute me.
My supervisor is not afraid of the pressure, and more than just once she has resisted the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) attempts to persecute me. I was very moved and so glad that she knows the truth about Falun Dafa and remains true to her conscience and moral principles.
My boss has come to understand me and Dafa after several incidents that have occurred over the past ten years.
I came across Falun Dafa in 1997. Its principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance deeply touched me. I came to understand the meaning of life and understood that I shouldn't be selfish and that I should maintain a high moral standard and be responsible to my family and society. I understood that I should become a good person and return to my original, true self.
I used to pursue comfort, luxury, and pleasure. After practicing Falun Dafa, my view of life and the world changed. I felt that I had a goal in life. In my daily life or at work I tried to cultivate my xinxing and be kind to people and consider others first, according to the requirements of Falun Dafa.
I found a job in a company in 2003. I worked hard and normally did the work of about three people and didn't complain. I was kind to everyone and helped them. I looked within when conflicts occurred to see where I hadn't done well and tried to improve in those areas. My boss and colleagues thought I was very good, and in 2005, three departments heads said that they would like to hire me at an internal recruitment fair within our company.
At that fair, the department managers were recruited first, and then each manager recruited his/her department employees. Three managers came to me, asking me to work for them. That put me in an awkward position, because I had no idea which department I should go to. Some employees were not hired by any department and the general manager had to personally talk to managers to find positions for these people. So my case was a special one, and I became rather well-known in my company.
I continued to do my work well in my new position, according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and was kind to everyone. By the end of the year, I was awarded the title of “model worker.” My present boss was one of my colleagues at that time, but I didn't have much communication with her.
The local 610 Office, the State Security Division, and the police department had my husband and me arrested in 2007 because we practiced Falun Dafa. I was held in the detention center for a month. The company fired me. We lost a lot of income because my husband continued to be detained. I had to find a new job.
Soon, one of my previous colleagues rang me and asked me to work in her private company. She said, “I was very happy to see on the job websites that you were looking for a job. I know Falun Gong practitioners are all good people with high moral standards.” She also told me a story. She had known a Falun Gong practitioner several years before. Someone had tried to bribe him with 10,000 yuan, but he refused to take it. She was very impressed. I decided to accept her offer because she knew a bit about Falun Gong. So, my previous colleague became my boss.
This new company had only just started, and nothing was standardized yet. The office was in a mess, and nobody was cleaning it. There were no company policies. I offered to clean the office every day, and the mood instantly improved. The employees exclaimed, “Things are different since you joined us.” Gradually, I set up policies and systems for company administration, human resources and performance appraisal. The company was soon on the right track.
As a Falun Dafa practitioner, I tried to work to my full capacity and do any job that my colleagues were not willing to do. I completed every job well and with as much concern for detail as possible. I also pointed out problems and gave suggestions from the point of view of the company and managers, in the hope that the company would grow. I was strict with myself at work but was lenient when it came to others and ready to help anyone.
The boss recognized my character and my ability. She realized that I was thinking of the big picture, so she put me in a managerial position and gave me a pay raise, even though I'd never asked for one. As a practitioner, I had to be a good person regardless. I had to do my job well and be responsible to the company. I followed the course of nature with regard to personal interest and didn't fight for it.
To encourage the employees, awards were given every month, and at the end of the year, special awards were given to one or two. The boss personally decided on the winners based on the employees' capability, work attitude, production, and character. Winners would receive a cash prize ranging from several hundred to several thousand yuan. Every employee wanted to be recognized and win the prize. I won the award several times, but twice I talked with the boss about giving up my award. I asked that it be given to a sales representative because that person worked harder than me and contributed a lot to the company. I wanted other excellent colleagues to be honored. But the boss always thought I was more worthy and insisted on giving it to me.
After a period of time my boss asked me to take charge of the finance department and manage the company funds. Generally speaking, in a small company, the boss or her or his relatives are in charge of the finances - it's not a responsibility given to outsiders. When she asked me to take this on, I felt a lot of pressure. I had never studied finance and was not good at it at all. I was afraid of making mistakes. But she said, “I trust you the most. You are selfless and very responsible, and you pay attention to detail. You must help me manage the company's accounts and money. I won't need to worry if you do it.”
Due to her trust, I accepted. I learned all about accounting while actually doing it. I completed all the accounts each day, no matter how late I had to stay at the office. I recorded every transaction with care and did not make any mistakes. I didn't take advantage of this position to embezzle funds. When I had to purchase materials, the client sometimes asked me how to issue invoices – implying that I would like to have the invoices issued for higher amounts and then pocket the difference. I told them to issue the invoices for the actual amounts, and I never overstated the amount. And I didn't claim extra expenses, either.
My boss understood Falun Dafa more and more and trusted me more and more. She resisted 610 Office harassment several times. She was once pressured to fire me. I actually tendered my resignation because I didn't want her to be pressured on my account But she refused to let me leave and resisted the persecution. She told me, “I cannot accept your leaving. You are such a good person. I will handle this. You must stay.” Due to her insistence, I am still working at this company.
Reviewing the past ten years, I have much to say. No matter how many lies the CCP has told about Falun Dafa or how badly they try to frame Falun Dafa, the lies simply cannot stand up to the facts. I believe that the more people know about Dafa and this unjust persecution, the more they will come to support Falun Dafa, just like my boss.
Falun Dafa practitioners live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and have high moral standards. If you don't know Falun Dafa or have misunderstandings about Falun Dafa, please read the book Zhuan Falun yourself. I believe you will change your mind.
