(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Guirong, 62, was illegally arrested on May 27, 2014 and has been tortured at the Binhaixin District No. 1 Detention Center. No family visits have been allowed. Her family members were beaten by police when they went to the local police station to request her release.
Officers from the Tanggu Police Department, the Tanggu Domestic Security Division and the Hetou Police Station in Hujiayuan broke into Ms. Wang's home on May 27, 2014 and arrested Ms. Wang and her husband Mr. Chen Guoliang. They were followed on their way to Dagang on May 16.
The police ransacked their home and confiscated a printer, DVD burner, laptop, about 1,000 bills with words about Falun Gong written on them, 100 Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs, 100 DVDs on breaking through the internet blockage, many blank DVDs, two cases of copy paper, a plastic sealer, a cell phone, 3 radios, 9 memory cards, and other items. The police didn't provide a list of the confiscated items.
Ms. Wang was taken to the Binhaixin District No. 1 Detention Center. The detention center first refused to accept her because of her high blood pressure, but the director of the Tanggu Police Department forced them to accept her.
Mr. Chen felt sick that day. His family called an ambulance and took him to the Tanggu Hospital (i.e. Tianjin No. 5 Central Hospital). He was then transferred to Taida Hospital in the Tanggu Developing District. Mr. Chen was released after treatment.
Ms. Wang's younger sister Wang Ping was visiting when the police broke into her home. She tried to stop the officers from taking her older sister. Two officers pushed her to the ground and arrested her.
Ms. Wang Ping was interrogated and beaten by police at the police station. She was released after being held for 24 hours.
Ms. Wang's daughter-in-law also tried to stop the police from arresting her. She was seven-months pregnant. An officer twisted her arms to her back. She kicked the officer once out of instinct, and the officer extorted 5,000 yuan because of it.
Ms. Wang's family was very worried when they learned that her blood pressure was about 200 and she was dizzy. Her daughter and older sister, 65, went to the detention center on July 3, 2014, asking for her release. The detention center told them to talk to the department in charge of her case.
The older sister and daughter went to the Hetou Police Station in Hujiayuan. They met Wang Xuming, the police officer in charge of Ms. Wang's arrest. Wang argued with Ms. Wang's family members after hearing what they asked. He twisted the older sister's arm to her back and pressed her head to the ground. Her arm swelled immediately. Ms. Wang's daughter tried to stop him. Another officer went up and gave her several slaps and he also threatened her.
