Master said:

“Do you know what it means to “have heard” or “have seen” something? It’s not what people think, where after you’ve viewed something, it’s over with if you didn’t take it with you; or when you’ve heard something but didn’t pursue it further, it doesn't matter. That’s not the case. All things are material. When you have heard something, it has been infused into you, and it enters your body. When you have seen something, it has entered.” (“Fa Teaching on World Falun Dafa Day”)

After reading Master's words, I realized that as practitioners, we should not see or hear things that we are not supposed to see or hear. On the other hand, we must spend more time on things we are supposed to see and hear.

I loved to read novels before I started practicing Falun Gong. I immersed myself in the novels to avoid facing the real world. Even after I started practicing, I occasionally read novels and was still quite attached to them. Ever since I read this paragraph, I strengthened my righteous thoughts and firmly refused to read or listen to novels. The modern ordinary society has been transformed into a mess by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). All aspects of life, including video games, movies, TV, music, novels, and other entertainment, have been infused by all kinds of messy information.

It may be easier for adult practitioners to restrain themselves. However, some young practitioners can’t always tell right from wrong. They can easily be contaminated if they read or see too much of the messy things. Some young practitioners may think, “I don’t see bad things.” In fact, the bad things don’t refer to only violence or pornography. For practitioners, anything unrelated to cultivation becomes interference. To say the least, it will waste our time which should be used on saving sentient beings.

When I first started practicing Falun Gong, I often held the thought, “I have read one lecture of Zhuan Falun and didn’t enlighten to anything. This is a waste of my time.” My view has now completely changed. I firmly believe that we are purified as long as we keep reading the Fa. Thus we must read the Fa more because ordinary society is a dye vat, within which we can become contaminated. The Fa can purify us, and compassionate Teacher will lead us to our true home.

In the past, I didn’t truly understand the meaning of hanging Dafa informational banners or posting the words “Falun Dafa is Good!” on the wall. I doubted its impact. I have since come to understand that the thoughts, “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” will be infused into people’s minds as long as they read them. Under this influence, their thoughts will gradually change.
