(Minghui.org) Ms. Che Pingping has been on hunger strike to protest her false imprisonment for eight months. She is force-fed three times daily and is now suffering from multiple organ failures.
The 40-year-old college professor's family could hardly recognize her when they visited her a few days ago. She has aged a lot, her hair was dirty and messy, and she has lost half of her normal weight. She also had difficulty speaking or walking.
Ms. Che was sentenced to 4 years following her 7th arrest in October 2013 for refusing to give up her belief in Falun Gong, a spiritual practice being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
To protest the illegal detention, Ms. Che started a hunger strike in April 2015 while being held at Jilin City Detention Center. The guards there force-fed her on a daily basis.
She was already in a precarious condition when she was transferred to the prison on November 26, but the prison took her in without conducting the required medical examination. She continued her hunger strike and was again met with brutal force-feeding. Every time the feeding tube was pulled out, it was covered with blood.
The prison doctors said that multiple organs are failing.
Ms. Che is held in No. 8 Division, where several Falun Gong practitioners have died of or become disabled from brutal tortures, including force-feeding.
