(Minghui.org) More and more police officers in China realize that persecuting Falun Gong is wrong and is in fact untenable. Their consciences are awakening, and they are showing it in different ways.
A Falun Gong practitioner in her 60s from the countryside prepared and mailed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin for her family of about six people.
Several local police officers went to her home. With some of the complaints in hand, they asked the practitioner if she had prepared them. The practitioner told them yes and asked if there were any issues. The police asked why she was suing Jiang, and the practitioner said, “I want to sue him because the persecution affected my family.
“Jiang tore apart my family with the persecution he initiated,” she said. “Jiang forbade my mother to practice Falun Gong, and now she is ill. To avoid persecution, she had to leave her home. She could not return and never had a real home again. She was in good health when she practiced Falun Gong. She is now very sick because of the persecution. Therefore, I want to sue him!”
One of the officers handed her a document and said, “Since you prepared the complaints, you need to sign this.”
The practitioner noticed words such as “false accusation against Jiang Zemin” and other lies in the document.
“I did not make a false accusation,” she said. “Jiang Zemin has indeed committed the enormous crime of persecuting Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners. I just want to sue him! Let me read these documents carefully. I want to know what you have written.”
She then tried to grab the documents, but the officer would not let her have them and ran out of the room. All the other officers in the room stood up and dashed out. The practitioner ran after them. They got into their police car and drove off.
A friend of mine from a police department told me today: “Some officers were ordered to bring in some key members of the 'suing Jiang Zemin effort.' But their consciences told them that they were wrong after they arrested one person. They are no longer willing to persecute Falun Gong."
Then my friend quoted one of the officers: “Every word that Falun Gong practitioners say is reasonable. It is not Falun Gong who violates the law, it is us!”
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo Standing Committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law now allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
