(Minghui.org) I used to be hot-tempered, arrogant, unforgiving, and argumentative. Even my boss did not want to get in my way. At home, I fought with my husband a lot, and often threatened him with divorce. I did not talk to my in-laws because I didn't like them.
I became a different person after I became a Falun Gong practitioner in 1998. At work I did any assignment without complaining or asking for extra compensation. My supervisor couldn't have been happier, “I wouldn't have to worry about anything if I had a few more practitioners like you.”
I got along with my husband and his family. I gave money on a regular basis to my in-laws, and bought them daily necessities. My mother-in-law often told others, “Falun Gong is miraculous. It turned my daughter-in-law into a considerate person.”
I developed stomach cancer, and when it worsened in May 2011 I was told that it was terminal. I was in constant, sharp pain and vomited everything I ate. My face and lips turned purple, my breath smelled bad, I could barely walk, and I began vomiting blood. I continued to study the Falun Gong teachings and do the exercises. After some time my cancer disappeared and I was healthier than ever. My cheeks were rosy and I was more energetic than the youngsters.
Last August I experienced excruciating pain around my waist, accompanied by small blisters. My sister told me that I had shingles. She urged me to see a doctor right away, for there could be bad consequences. I told her that it was nothing compared to the cancer, and simply ignored it. Within a few days, the shingles disappeared. My sister told me that she didn't sleep for days worrying about me. “Falun Dafa and Master Li saved you again,” she said.
Last summer my husband, who is also a practitioner, suffered a stroke. He recovered in two days without seeing a doctor. My daughter-in-law said that if it weren't for Master Li's protection, both of us would have died.
My brother-in-law used to be a practitioner, but stopped practicing after the persecution began in 1999. He also had a stroke and spent a fortune in the hospital. Even now, half of his body still doesn't function well. He said regretfully, “Had I continued to practice, I wouldn't be like this. I still can't do any work.”
My son and his wife live with us. My daughter-in-law had a very short fuse, and often fought and argued with my son. One day after they had a fight, she charged into my room and yelled at me. My husband was very upset about the outburst. I calmed him down and said that we needed to treat her like our own daughter.
Another time they had a major fight just as I was about to leave the house to go shopping. She pulled me back and shoved me to the ground, then stormed out of the house. I got up and went to the market as usual, and didn't think much about it. My son, on the other hand, was very upset by what she did and decided to divorce her. I persuaded him to forget about it.
Three days later my daughter-in-law came home. I still smiled and cooked for her as if nothing had happened. She apologized, and from then on she helped with housework and bought me presents. I am now helping her to learn Falun Gong. She tells others, “In this chaotic society, Falun Gong is the only pure land.”
My neighbor was at odds with my family over an unfortunate misunderstanding. For six months she cursed at us loudly every day in front of our door step. My daughter-in-law was about to pick a fight with her one day. I told her that we should just let it go.
My neighbor's husband was paralyzed and bedridden, and later died. I lent my neighbor money and helped her with the funeral preparations. She cried in front of me, regretting her previous behavior. She then started telling people that Falun Gong practitioners were all good people.
