(Minghui.org) Mr. Zhou Chuanzhi and his wife Ms. Gao Jinfeng, both Falun Gong practitioners, are from Gongnan District, Hegang City in Heilongjiang Province. The police arrested them near the Baoquanling City court house on June 30, 2016.
More than a dozen Falun Gong practitioners and their families were arrested that day, with the majority being released that night.
Mr. Zhou, Ms. Gao and Ms. Liu Yu were taken to the Hegang Detention Center and detained until July 15, 2016.
Prior Arrests of Mr. Zhou and Ms. Gao
Mr. Zhou and Ms. Gao were arrested at home on April 21, 2002, by police from the Jiefanglu Police Station and taken to the No. 2 Detention Center of Hegang City.
Ms. Gao was held for 49 days before she was transferred to the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp for a three-year term.
Mr. Zhou was given two years of forced labor.
Couple Benefited from Practicing Falun Gong
Ms. Gao, a business woman, started practicing Falun Gong in June 1998. Prior to taking up the practice, she used to suffer from arteriosclerosis and insomnia. After practicing for only a week, Ms. Gao's insomnia and body pain disappeared. She displayed the good demeanor of a practitioner by following Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Ms. Gao's husband, Mr. Zhou began practicing Falun Gong on January 1, 1999. He attained good health within a short time after beginning the practice.
