(Minghui.org) I have been practicing Falun Dafa for 19 years. I am healthy and active although I am nearly 60 years old. I am more tolerant and considerate and take personal gain and loss lightly. I would like to share some of my cultivation experiences.
I was introduced to the book Zhuan Falun in 1997. I spent a whole day reading it—I had found what I had been searching for. I started to do the exercises and study the Fa every day. I was full of joy and felt so well.
I soon understood that I must be a good person, be kind to people, and consider others first if I wanted to improve my health. With the improvement of my character, my body underwent amazing changes. I recovered from rheumatism, stomach pain, chronic cough, arrhythmia, hemorrhoids, and gynecological problems.
My body felt light. I had no difficulty walking upstairs and did not feel tired after riding my bicycle for over an hour. I look like I am in my 40s although I am nearly 60. My skin remains soft and vibrant.
Master Li opened up my third eye, and I saw scenes in other dimensions. One day I saw Master take beings from hell one by one and save them. How great and compassionate Master is!
I studied Chinese painting and calligraphy in my spare time. I was busy with my child, work, and household chores, but I did not feel tired. I was one of the top students in my class. My classmates came to me for help whenever they had problems with their studies.
I excelled at work as well. I was able to do any job in my company, so the company did not have to look for extra workers.
I gave free painting classes to the children of my friends, relatives, and neighbors. This allowed children whose parents could not afford the school fees to learn art. The parents were very touched and asked about Falun Dafa.
I reinforced their positive and kind nature. I told them the facts about Dafa and asked them to recite “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” when they had problems. All of them quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.
My students won the gold prize in the national painting competition, the first prize in the municipal painting competition, and an excellence award in the local district competition.
When I went away for business or out to do things for my company, I often ate simple lunches and did not claim expenses. I refused any gifts or meals from my clients. My colleagues and managers were satisfied with the work I did.
I voluntarily gave up the chance to apply for a free housing unit that the company provided, because the number of coworkers applying far outnumbered the available units.
Our company did not make a profit and had to obtain loans to pay its employees, and the employees did not have much work. To reduce the burden for the company, I resigned without asking for any compensation.
Life was hard after I resigned. An art gallery agreed to sell my paintings and accepted custom orders.
My father-in-law was suddenly hospitalized, and I had to spend some of my limited time to look after him and cook for him. After he was discharged from the hospital, my mother-in-law suggested that they live with us. I agreed.
My husband's workplace then became an employee-owned company, so we needed a chunk of money to buy shares. We wanted to sell our apartment, but my mother-in-law did not agree because they wanted to stay with us. Following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, I agreed not to sell. They were very happy with us. In their later years, they became bedridden. I took good care of them until they passed away.
The area where my husband’s parents had lived was scheduled to be demolished last year. They had written a letter before they died, stating that their youngest son should receive any reimbursement they were due, but the note was not legally binding. As the eldest son, my husband was due the money. My brother-in-law wanted to sue us in court, and my husband was very disappointed with him.
I encouraged my husband to treat everyone kindly. So we agreed to give his brother-in-law over one hundred thousand yuan. My husband was very appreciative and said I was kinder than him, and that he did not have enough kindness within him to think of such an offer on his own.
My brother-in-law was very touched. He and his family members all withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
