(Minghui.org) Ms. Wen Baiduan, a retired primary school teacher in her seventies from Ziyang, Sichuan Province, was arrested again at her home on July 4, 2017 for her belief in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. She is being held in the local detention center.
Ms. Wen had previously been sentenced to a three-year prison term in April 2005 for handing out information to her students that she downloaded from Minghui.org. She intended to use the information to teach the development of character based on Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. She was reported to the authorities by a colleague as a result and later arrested and sentenced.
She was released in 2008 but was still harassed by personnel from the local 610 Office. She then moved to the Dujiangyan residential area in Chengdu to avoid further persecution.
Yu Hui, then head of Chengdu City Anti-cult Office (an extra-judicial agency tasked with persecuting Falun Gong), was responsible for ordering the arrest of Ms. Wen and many other Chengdu practitioners.
