(Minghui.org) I am a Falun Dafa practitioner who found my main problem after reading Master's Fa.
Master said,
“Some people say, “I’ve cultivated quite well and have conducted myself quite well,” but the attachments in their hearts haven’t been discarded in the least. Can that count as cultivation? Isn’t that fake? So only fundamental changes are true changes. What’s on the surface is all show.” (Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Switzerland)
Although I have been involved in many different Falun Dafa projects, I have not really cultivated well. I took my new understanding to heart, stopped much of what I was involved in, and started to study the Fa more. But, always felt sleepy when I studied the Fa alone, and I could not keep my palm straight when sending forth righteous thoughts.
Another practitioner introduced me to a Fa-study group. We read two chapters of Zhuan Falun in the morning. Looking at the other practitioners, I realized that I had to catch up in my cultivation. They could sit in the double lotus position for up to three hours, while I only managed to sit only for one hour. In addition, I was always distracted.
However, I improved in my cultivation over the past two years. I studied the Fa more and based all my actions on the Fa. This helped me to understand more Fa principles. I finally learned that cultivation is serious and that only by studying the Fa earnestly could I improve on my cultivation path.
I concentrated for over 10 years on persuading people to quit the Chinese Communist Party and its youth organizations. The number of people who quit was of great importance to me.
Master said,
“I think that at the tourist sites, you should not take quitting the Party or the Young Pioneers, or the 'three withdrawals' itself, as your goal. Remember, everyone, you are to have clarifying the truth and saving people as your goal!” (“Fa Teaching at the 2016 New York Fa Conference”)
After I read Master's Fa on this subject, I changed my approach when talking to people and spoke about the persecution facts, such as its illegality and the Tiananmen Square self-immolation hoax.
A Former School Principal and Wife Learn the Facts
Other practitioners and I often talked to people about Falun Dafa at a big public park near my home.
When we met a couple, we started to chat about society, morality, and government corruption. The man told me that he could not be bribed while he served as a school principal. He also helped those of poor background attend school. He resigned from his post after Jiang Zemin was made head of the communist regime and the corruption worsened.
I told him that I started to practice Dafa 19 years ago and recovered from all my illnesses shortly into the practice. He agreed that Jiang Zemin was wrong to ban Falun Dafa.
I spoke of the stone found in Guizhou Province on which were carved six characters–-“Chinese Communist Party perishes.” Then I asked if they wanted to quit the CCP. They agreed to with their real names and promised to ask their son to quit when they visit him in Guangzhou in the fall.
Retired Government Officer Wants to Read Zhuan Falun
I struck up a conversation with an elderly man who had retired from the civil affairs bureau. I told him, “Falun Dafa teaches people to become better people, and one of the benefits is good health–there’s nothing wrong with that.”
I told him that it was Jiang Zemin who initiated the persecution of Falun Dafa. Thousands of practitioners have been tortured to death because they refused to renounce their faith. Even worse, the regime harvests organs from living practitioners for financial gain. He said he had not heard about this and wanted to know more.
Before we parted ways, he agreed to quit one of the Party's youth organizations with a pseudonym and showed interest in reading Zhuan Falun and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
We arranged for a time to meet the following Saturday. He showed up and apologized for being late. We had brought with us Zhuan Falun, the Nine Commentaries, and Falun Dafa informational materials and disks, which he accepted and promised to share with his friends.
Experiencing the Dark Side of Society
The process of clarifying the facts about Falun Dafa is also a process of improving oneself. Then, if we are sincere about our tasks, we will do well.
There are many young people who do not want to listen and refuse to believe what we are telling them. They even threaten to report us to the police or try to attack us physically.
When we tried to talk to a government official and his wife, he threatened to report us to the police. I was not affected by his attitude and told him that I was telling him about Dafa for his own good. Surprisingly, his wife said, “She’s doing this for our good. Why do you act like that?” Then, he stopped.
Such incidents taught me to study the Fa more, which in turn strengthen my righteous thoughts. I no longer hold any fear in my heart and am able to let go of many of my attachments, including selfishness and my show-off mentality.
