(Minghui.org) As I was walking down the street, several police officers started to chase after me and shouted at me. I continued on calmly until the officers came up in front of me and stopped. I was soon surrounded by over ten of them. They took me to the police station.
It was January 2018, and I had gone to one of China's border areas to tell people about Falun Dafa. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has banned and slandered this Buddhist practice since 1999, giving many people a wrong impression of it.
When word got out that a Falun Dafa practitioner had been arrested, regular police officers and armed police (who are responsible for patrolling the board) rushed to the lobby. Some took videos of me and asked me questions. They all seemed somewhat nervous.
Unruffled, I said, “I won't answer your questions. If I do, this will be an illegal interrogation and that's not something you want on your record. It's a good thing that you 'invited' me here. If you are nice to Falun Dafa practitioners, chances are heaven will reward you.
“One more thing. Even though Jiang Zemin (the former head of the CCP) gave orders to persecute Falun Dafa, Falun Dafa is practiced in over one hundred countries. Many people outside of China have sued Jiang. In China alone, over 200,000 practitioners used their real names and identities to file lawsuits against him. So I'm advising you to not follow his orders to persecute practitioners.
“For the record, if you just listen to what I have to say or share it with your friends, that's fine. But if you use it to report to your superiors, when Falun Dafa is redressed one day, it will serve as evidence that you have persecuted Falun Dafa.”
“Don't call the head office,” an officer told his subordinates.
Most of them left but a few stayed in the lobby to keep an eye on me. They spoke to me one by one.
When one of them wanted to look in my bag, I said firmly, “I do not give you permission. If you search it, you are violating the law.”
“Even if I do it in front of you?”
“If I don't authorize you and you search it in front me, that's theft. If you search it behind my back, that's stealing.”
“Wow, then we can't look at it. Why don't you just let us take a look?”
“If I let you do that, I am helping you do something wrong, and that harms you.”
“Auntie, you must be in your 80s, but you know so many things and you are so sharp. You might live for several hundred years!”
“I practice Falun Dafa,” I responded. “I get everything from Dafa. You all should find a Dafa book to read. If you can't find a book, just say sincerely, 'Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.' Also, by quitting the CCP it will cut your ties with that organization. Then you will have a clear head, too. More importantly, you will be safe when the Party is taken down.”
“Auntie, please lower your voice. Other people are doing their work.”
“I am loud because I want them to hear me. I see many good people in your station, so I need to let them all hear the truth.”
When I asked for water, they brought it and said, “Please drink!” Someone brought a piece of paper and a pen and asked for my name.
“You need to first write down 'illegal interrogation' and 'people have the freedom to choose their faith and persecuting people because of their faith is a crime.'”
When they didn't write what I said, I told them, “Don't waste your time. I won't sign it. I am just here to tell you the truth. I have been here for two hours. I need to go home now.”
One officer offered me a lift in a police car.
“Let's ask why you would do that. If it is for my safety, then that is good. If you want to scare me, then you will incur retribution.” He decided that someone would walk me home instead.
“Sure, I promise you that I will tell him more facts about Dafa on the way to awaken him to the truth.”
“Please don't come to this area again, he said.”
“No, I can't promise you that. There are people here I want to explain the facts about Falun Dafa to. I truly hope you all have a nice future.”
The officer just let me leave. None of them followed me.
When I was in the lobby of the police station, there were always a few people nearby, except on two occasions when there was just one. In a few seconds, I asked each one which communist organization he belonged to and suggested that he quit. They both said that they would.
