(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 15 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 13 were illegally arrested.
Mr. Wang Yibin, 48, was arrested by officers from the Jia Town 610 Office and the police station on January 15, 2011, and taken to the Guan County Detention Center. He was later sentenced to a one-year prison term and transferred to a forced labor camp, where he was severely tortured.
The police continued to intimidate and harass him after he was released. He was under extreme pressure and eventually passed away on April 9, 2018.
Mr. Xia Chenggui, a former teacher at Panlong Elementary School in Jiuzhi Town, Luzhou City, left home for more than two years to avoid being arrested for suing former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong. Due to illness, he went back home on March 6, 2018, and was arrested by the police. Mr. Xia was later diagnosed with gastric cancer and taken to Hejiang County Hospital where he is still detained while getting treatment. He is in critical condition.
Mr. Xia's wife, Ms. Liu Xiaolin, was sentenced to a five-year prison term for filing a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. She is currently being held at the Longquan Women's Prison in Chengdu City and tortured.
Ms. Zhu Yanting was arrested by officers from the Yangqiao Police Station in Fengtai District on April 8, 2018. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Guan Enqin was recently arrested by officers from Zhucheng City for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.
Mr. Liu Xiyong was arrested by officers from Paotai City and Shihe City on April 9, 2018.
Officers from the Kaifaqu Police Station arrested Ms. Lu Mingxia, her daughter Ms. Zhang Wei, and Ms. Zhan Ying, and took them to the No. 1 Detention Center.
Ms. Ying's arrest was recently approved. Her daughter was also arrested, but has been released.
Mr. Gong Runzhong was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center.
Mr. Xiong Jiwei, Mr. Wang Gangqiang, and Mr. Xiong Wenzhi were arrested on November 7, 2017. They have been detained for more than five months.

Ms. Jin Yan's arrest was approved by the Chaoyang Procuratorate on April 3, 2018, and her case was sent back to the police.

Ms. Hou Xiaoyan and Ms. Zhang Shuzhi were arrested by officers from the Shangzhi Police Department on October 10, 2017. They are currently being held at the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center. Their cases have been sent to the Acheng City Court.

Ms. Gao Xianying, Ms. Zhang Yuanhua, and Ms. Zou Mingying were arrested on July 12, 2017. Ms. Gao was detained while Ms. Zhang and Ms. Zou were released on bail. They were prosecuted by the Hejiang Procuratorate on April 3, 2018.
Mr. Chen and his daughter were arrested by officers from the Xupu County Domestic Security Division on April 9, 2018. The daughter was released later that day.
The Jiayuguang Intermediate Court of Gansu Province upheld Ms. Shen Jinyu’s original four-year prison sentence on November 7, 2017. She was transferred to Gansu Provincial Women’s Prison and her health has since deteriorated. Her uterine fibroids relapsed, her vision has worsened, she suffers from cholecystitis, and she lost consciousness twice while showering.
Ms. Chen Fengyu was sentenced to two years in prison by the Shapotou District Court on March 26, 2018, because she filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin in 2015.
Ms. Chen was followed and arrested by officers from the Zhenluo Police Station on the morning of September 18, 2016. She was held in the Zhongwei Detention Center and developed a serious illness two months later. She was released on medical bail on December 9, 2016, to await her trial.
The Shapotou District Procurator submitted her case to the Shapotou Court in December 2017. The court then held two separate trials and sentenced Ms. Chen in March 2018. Her family has appealed her sentencing.
Jinnan District Court tried Ms. Zhao Chunyan and Ms. Sun Jianhua at 10:00 a.m. on March 27, 2018. Both of the women's lawyers pleaded not-guilty on their behalfs.
Ms. Sun said she was deceived into signing the written record for the court, since the detention guard did not let her see what was written on the paper.
The prosecutor provided articles of evidence that contradicted each other and did not prove that the two women had broken any laws. The trial ended at around 1:00 p.m. without a verdict.
Ms. Deng Shi’e was sentenced to two years and three months in prison in 2017. She is being detained in Conghua Women’s Prison and continues to appeal her case.
Her attorney went to the prison and requested to meet with her on March 25, 2018, but was driven away by prison guards.
Mr. Dai Qihong was released on bail on March 6, 2018, to await his trial. He went to the Xinhua Police Department two days later to request his belongings, which included 18,000 yuan in cash, several computers, a cell phone, and Falun Gong books, which were illegally confiscated when his home was ransacked. The police said the items were listed in the file sent to the prosecutor, so they refused to give them back.
Two police officers went to Mr. Dai’s home on the morning of April 9, 2018, and told him to go get his things at the Xinhua Police Department. When he got to the police station, he was arrested and detained instead.
