(Minghui.org) A Qingdao City, Shandong Province resident serving an 8-year prison term for practicing Falun Gong has been subjected to torture for refusing to renounce his faith.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
When Mr. Jin Yongxin's daughter, brother, and sister visited him at Jinan Prison on August 6, 2019, Mr. Jin told them that he was savagely beaten many times by two inmates, Ren Qiang and Wu Jinda, and that his blood pressure was once as high as 280 mmHg. He said that he worried he may never be able to see his family again.
Upon hearing Mr. Jin talking about the torture, the guards rushed over and berated him for speaking out.
The guards ended the meeting immediately and took Mr. Jin out of the visitation room.
While his brother was about to leave, one guard asked him, “What's your relationship with him?” He replied that he was Mr. Jin's brother. But the guard refused to disclose his name to Mr. Jin's brother, “This is none of your business.” He also threatened to revoke Mr. Jin's right to family visits in the future.
Mr. Jin, 62, and his wife, Ms. Bian Lixun, 60, were arrested on December 2, 2016 after the police monitored their cellphones for over a year. Both of them were sentenced to eight years in prison and fined 30,000 yuan by Shibei District Court on September 1, 2017.
The Qingdao City Intermediate Court upheld their verdicts in December 2017.
