(Minghui.org) I will be 67 years old this year and have practiced Falun Dafa for 20 years. As a Dafa practitioner of the Fa-rectification period, I make sure to strictly abide by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I also step up to defend Dafa, eliminate bad influences, and embrace the sacred mission of helping save people no matter where I am.
Maintaining Good Relationships with My Neighbors
I live in the suburbs of a city in Jiangsu Province. Before I retired, I had little interaction with my neighbors due to my work schedule. But now I have time to step out and interact with my neighbors every day. I have realized that they are all people with affinity so I want to save them.
While interacting with my neighbors, I follow the teachings of Master Li Hongzhi, behave as a cultivator, and am kind to others. Normally when I clean the corridors, I clean my neighbors door fronts as well. When the neighbor who lives opposite me is busy, I volunteer to help care for her children. Over time, we have built up a mutual trust in each other. Sometimes when I go to shop for groceries, the neighbors ask me to help them get groceries too, and I always gladly do so. When they offer to pay me, I normally don’t accept it, and tell them, “I am so happy to have you as my neighbor that the money does not matter to me, rest assured.”
The display of my xinxing has led my neighbors to treat me with friendliness from the bottom of their hearts. I have used this opportunity to tell them about the goodness of Falun Dafa and the truth about the persecution of Dafa by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
I clarified that the CCP and Jiang Zemin persecuted Falun Dafa out of jealousy and that the ‘Tiananmen self-immolation incident’ was a hoax. Their motive was to induce hatred toward Falun Dafa by those who do not know the truth.
Neighbors who learned the truth no longer had negative thoughts about Falun Dafa, and have subsequently quit the CCP. My kind thoughts and actions have also motivated the neighbors to behave kindly as well. When they are cleaning their corridor, they clean their neighbors’ corridors too.
I also distribute truth clarifying materials in the village. The lady who lives in the house next to mine is a member of the Communist Party. When the persecution of Dafa started, she treated me with hatred and looked down on me. After persistent truth clarification with her, her attitude has changed completely.
Clarifying the Truth to the Children and Their Parents
The two houses opposite mine are being rented out to workers from out of town. Among them are four families who have children who are studying in their hometown, so they will only be here to stay with their parents during the holidays. As the rented rooms are quite small and they cannot bear to install air-conditioning, when the adults go out to work during the day, the underaged children must stay at home in the hot and sweltering heat. The rooms in my house are larger and are air-conditioned. When I see those kids sweltering in the heat, I shout for them to come to my house to do their homework and rest. I also bring out watermelon and snacks for them to eat.
As these children feel my heartfelt concern for them, they always call me “Grandma” amiably when they see me. I asked them, “Grandma has a miracle formula that can bring peace and bliss to people, do you want to learn about that?” The children were eager to know the formula and I told them, “The red scarf is stained with blood. Wearing it is not good. Therefore, next time, just treat it as a piece of red cloth and quit the Young Pioneers CCP youth organization from the bottom of your hearts. You will be ok if you know that you are no longer a member of the CCP.” The children asked me how I knew about all these things. I told them that there are writings in the Buddhist scriptures that say so. The children all quit the Young Pioneers happily and even took home the truth clarification booklets that I gave to them to show to their parents. Out of the four families, two of the parents have quit the Party. The other two parents had never joined the CCP and they heeded my advice and started to recite “Falun Dafa is good” right on the spot.
A nine year old girl named Yu came to stay with her mother during the holidays. Her mother had come to work in our area, and rented a room in the small district. After getting acquainted with her, the girl also accepted a truth clarifying charm, and promised to show it to her mother. I did not expect that she would return the charm a day later however. Yu told me that she does not believe in this and that her mother will no longer allow her to come to my house to play. I thought that this girl’s mother must have been influenced by the propaganda news and thus hate Falun Dafa. I therefore took the opportunity to visit her mother with fruits and truth clarifying materials while she was resting at home. I complimented her that she had taught her daughter well, such that she already knows how to wash clothes, do the housework, and treat people with respect at her young age. With these affirmations, the mother let down her defense and started to quietly listen to my truth clarification. She has since always taken the initiative to greet me whenever she sees me. On one occasion I told her kindly, “Let Auntie help you quit the CCP!” She felt my kind intent and quit the CCP without much difficulty. Later on, this mother even reminded her daughter, “If you meet with any problems at home while Mum is out to work, remember to go and look for the kind Grandma who practices Falun Dafa for help!”
My Husband Supports Me in Cultivation Practice
In cultivation, I require myself to abide strictly by the requirements of Dafa. My husband does not cultivate but he witnessed the changes in me after I started practicing Falun Dafa.
After I started practicing, my husband frequently pointed out to me that I was not cultured. I realized that in the past I had also complained to my husband that he was not cultured. My hidden attachments of jealousy, complaining about others, vying for control, and seeking benefits and comfort began to become evident. Thus, I quickly sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate them. When I finally got rid of these attachments, my husband’s complaining stopped.
Abiding by the requirements for a cultivator, I took on almost all the household chores without any complaint. I cook based upon my husband’s likes, and I myself am satisfied to eat leftovers. When one has the correct attitude, one’s body will be healthy too. My husband finds this very logical. Under my influence, the way my husband treated others gradually changed without us noticing it. The vendors who sell fruits and vegetables in the small district do not have an easy life, so my husband doesn’t haggle over every ounce, or bargain the price with them when he shops.
Although he does not cultivate, he knows very well that Dafa is good. During the period when I was detained in 2000, my husband had the thought, “Practicing Falun Dafa is so important to my wife, so the Dafa scriptures that she treasures cannot be taken away by the police.” He thus hid the Dafa books so that when the police came and asked about the books, they could not find them. All the books were thus protected from harm. In this way, not only has my husband helped to avert any persecution against me, he has also put himself in a good position for the future.
Neighbors Speak Up and Protect Me from the Police
The police and a community staff member came to my house and asked if I had been out to distribute Falun Dafa materials recently. I told them, “Both of you had better not participate in the persecution of Falun Dafa which has been instigated by the CCP. Nothing good will come of it if you do so!” Neither replied to this. Just then, the mother who lives across the street came to visit me and saw these two. She told them, “This woman who practices Falun Dafa is a really good person. She took on all the household chores by herself and has never complained about it. Her body is also in good shape despite her age!” The two visitors complimented me that my house was very clean. The mother then started to criticize them, “Why are you all coming to other people’s houses to ask about their business? Do you all have nothing better to do? No one is managing the public toilet in the area. The workers from out of town are throwing rubbish everywhere and no one comes to open the door for the public toilet on time every morning!” The police and community staff member became very embarrassed and hurried off, using needing to check on the public toilet problem as an excuse. After they left, I found out that these people had also been to this mother’s house to find out if I had been distributing truth clarification materials recently. She told them, “She is an old lady who stays at home and does her household chores dutifully. I have never seen her go out to distribute materials.”
Another neighbor in the small district told me that the police in charge of household registers also asked their family to get more information about me. They told the police outright that they had Falun Dafa materials at their home and that these materials were placed on their car when they were in the city. In this way, under the protection of the neighbors who understood the truth, the plot of the evil forces to persecute me failed. They have since never again come to my house to create a disturbance.
I really treasure this opportunity to follow Master Li, cultivate, and save people. I know very well that all that I have in this life is given by Master and everything of mine belongs to Dafa. My sister, a fellow practitioner, and I often donate money to support the production of truth clarifying materials.
In order to save more people, I pay serious attention to remaining safe. I normally contact only three well known practitioners to go out to distribute truth clarifying materials. Our village has about 50 to 60 people who have chosen to quit the CCP, and among my relatives, there are more than 30 additional people who have chosen to quit.
I know very well that I am just moving my lips to spread the truth about Dafa to others. The actual one saving them is Master! Master has benevolently arranged everything for us from the start, bringing forward all the people with an affinity to us. It is critical that we always do our best, abide by the standards of cultivators, and complete all the tasks that Master has bestowed upon us, while upholding righteous thoughts and actions throughout, and save people with compassion.
I have a limited education, but with Master’s encouragement, I have overcome my attachment, and wrote my cultivation experience as such. Thank you Master!
