(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cui Guixian Tortured

Ms. Cui Guixian from Daling Town has been held in the Siping City Detention Center for over four months. Her family went to deposit money for her at the detention center on December 13, 2019, and learned that she has developed stomach problems as a result of abuse in detention.

2. [Guang’an City, Sichuan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested; Two Others Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Ding Yuerong and Mr. Yang Lixin were arrested in October 2019. Ms. Li Zhixiang was sentenced to two years in prison, while Ms. Chou Daxiu was given three years to be served outside of prison.

3. [Zigong City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Lai Dehua and Ms. Wang Zhiqiong Transferred to Zigong City Detention Center

Rong County residents Mr. Lai Dehua and Ms. Wang Zhiqiong were held at the Songlinpo Detention Center before being transferred to the Zigong City Detention Center on September 9, 2019.

4. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Yanjuan Arrested

Ms. Wang Yanjuan was arrested by officers from the Chengxi Police Station in Jiedong District on the evening of December 19, 2019.

5. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Ailing Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Liu Ailing was given a three-and-a-half-year prison term.

6. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Haiqiang Held in Custody

Dongzhangkou Village resident Mr. Liu Haiqiang was arrested by Director Qian Liansong and officers from the Tianjiazhuang Township Police Station on the morning of September 5, 2019. He is still being held in the Xinji City Detention Center and has been denied family visits.

7. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Yuehong and Two Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yuehong was followed and arrested by officers from the Liulinqiao Police Station on the afternoon of December 7, 2019. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Zhao Meihua and Ms. Li Wenhua were arrested by officers from the Railway Family Quarters Police Station, Fuxing District, on the evening of December 4, 2019. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Zhao’s son and a relative were also arrested and later released. Ms. Zhao was taken to the No. 3 Detention Center. Ms. Li’s current whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. She Yuanqi has been held in the Yidu Detention Center since August 19, 2019. He has been denied family visits.

9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Jiyuan Sentenced to Prison; Mr. Yao Zhenrong Held in Custody

Mr. Zhao Jiyuan was given a seven-and-a-half-year prison term by the Heping District Court on December 10, 2019. He has appealed the sentence.

Mr. Yao Zhenrong, almost 80 years old, from Tiexi District, was arrested by officers from the Huanggu District Police Department and the Minglian Police Station on the evening of September 24, 2019. He was taken to Shenyang City Detention Center. A lawyer hired by his family met him on December 23, 2019, and informed them that Mr. Yao had become emaciated and weighed only around 90 pounds.

10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Sun Kaiqing and Another Practitioner Tortured in Prison

Mr. Sun Kaiqing and Mr. Tan Fengjiang were hung up off the ground and locked in solitary confinement on October 8, 2019. They remain in solitary confinement as of this writing.

Ms. Zhai Liying, 76, from Acheng District, was arrested on November 21, 2019. Her Falun Gong materials were confiscated.

11. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wei Qishan Passes Away 

Mr. Wei Qishan and his wife Ms. Yu Shurong were arrested by Li Lizhong, head of the Economic and Technology Development Zone Police Department, and other officers from their apartment building on the morning of June 12, 2018. They were taken to the Qinhuangdao City Detention Center. The Changli County Court sentenced Mr. Wei to four years in prison and Ms. Yu to three and a half years.

Mr. Wei’s life was in imminent danger, and he was taken to People’s Hospital on the evening of November 23, 2019. He had stopped breathing by the time he got to the hospital. His family rushed to the hospital after receiving a call and saw that his arms had black and dark purple bruises.
