(Minghui.org) A Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province resident was secretly sentenced to four years in prison in late July 2019 for her faith in Falun Gong, an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The Guta District Court and Jinzhou Women’s Detention Center refused to reveal where Ms. Zhou Yuzhen has been sent to serve time.
Ms. Zhou’s brother went to Liaoning Women’s Prison, the largest women’s prison in Liaoning Province, to check whether she was imprisoned there. The receptionist refused to look Ms. Zhou up in their database and demanded that he provide proof of his kinship to her.
When he went to the local Jintie Police Station, which is also responsible for Ms. Zhou’s latest arrest, to request a kinship certificate, the police refused to issue the document.
Ms. Zhou, 66, was arrested in April 2019 after being reported for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Her arrest was approved by the Guta District Procuratorate on April 30, 2019.
The Guta District Court sentenced her three months later without informing her family.
This is the fourth time that Ms. Zhou Yuzhen has been arrested for her faith. She previously served 1.5 years in a forced labor camp and 4 years in prison for speaking out for Falun Gong.
