(Minghui.org) A woman in Suining City, Sichuan Province passed away three months after she was arrested and harassed for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999. She was 74.
Ms. Liang Qinzhun was arrested on July 18, 2019, just as she finished shopping at a supermarket. Two plainclothes officers brought her back to her home, ransacked the place, and confiscated her Falun Gong books, computer, and other personal belongings.
The police forcibly took a blood sample from Ms. Liang and had her go through a physical examination. Upon releasing her three days later, they threatened to harass her and ransack her home again.
In an attempt to hide from the police, Ms. Liang moved to her granddaughter's place, only to see the police harassing her son and granddaughter and threatening to force their workplaces to fire them.
Ms. Liang later returned to her own home. She became withdrawn and often refused to open the door. Under tremendous mental strain, she passed away on October 18, 2019.
Ms. Liang began practiceing Falun Gong in April 1998. She credited the practice for improving her health and general wellbeing. She was a much happier person after she took up Falun Gong.
Because of not renouncing her faith, Ms. Liang was arrested and detained in June 2006 and again in early 2007. The police harassed her on a number of occasions.
