(Minghui.org) The spread of COVID-19 has reached over 180 countries in the last four months, with more than 1.7 million people infected globally and over 150,000 deaths. Throughout this humanitarian disaster, Falun Gong practitioners outside of China have been making phone calls to people in China to give them accurate information about the coronavirus. Many people in Wuhan who answered these calls were moved to tears.
Practitioners have also been advising people to distance themselves from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) by withdrawing from it and its affiliated organizations to ensure a safe future. The following stories are shared by two Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan.
Mr. Wan Yunling is a Falun Gong practitioner in Taiwan. He has many years of experience calling people in China to tell them the facts about Falun Gong. In talking about his recent experiences, he said, “I can feel that people trust practitioners. They know we call them because we want them to be safe.”
According to Mr. Wan, people in Hubei Province have been very anxious in the past few months. They would quickly hang up the phone when they realized the caller was not someone they knew. But Mr. Wan did not give up easily. He called back and spoke a few words before they hung up again. After two or three times, they realized, “Oh, you are a Falun Gong [practitioner].”
Once they know that Mr. Wan is a Falun Gong practitioner, people are usually more willing to listen to him explain the facts about the practice and how the CCP is responsible for the spread of COVID-19. Mr. Wan always advises them to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. “When the Party collapses, all those who have joined and vowed to remain loyal to it will go down with it,” he tells them.
Mr. Wan called and spoke to a man in Hubei Province a few weeks ago. The man was struggling with the facts and asked, “What bad things has the CCP done?” Mr. Wan explained to him that the CCP had staged the Tiananmen Square self-immolation and how the government has harvested organs from Falun Gong practitioners for profit. He also told him why COVID-19 is called the “CCP virus.”
Convinced, the man decided to withdraw from the CCP's organizations. Then Mr. Wan heard his wife, who was next to him, say, “Me, too! Me, too!” Both the man and his wife withdrew.
Mr. Wan phoned a man in Wuhan on another day. After a few words, the man said, “Please call me back.” Mr. Wan realized that perhaps it was not a good time for him to talk, so he agreed. When Mr. Wan talked to the man again later, he was eager to quit the CCP.
Eighty-year-old Ms. Ma has been practicing Falun Gong for 21 years. She has been calling people in Wuhan since the end of February. One time she reached a young man in Wuhan. The man was very supportive of Falun Gong and wanted to withdraw from the CCP's organizations. Ms. Ma asked him if his family was with him.
“Yes, I’m here,” his wife said next to him. The wife told Ms. Ma, “I have a child in elementary school. He needs to withdraw, too.” All three withdrew from the CCP and thanked Ms. Ma for her phone call.
Another time, Ms. Ma reached a lawyer in Wuhan. She talked for almost 5 minutes and gave him the address of a website where he could download software to break through the Internet blockade. The lawyer was very grateful.
Ms. Ma recently called a Communist Party secretary of a rural village outside Wuhan. She talked to the man for a while, but he was still hesitant to withdraw from the Party. She said, “The Chinese Communist Party is not China—we must distinguish the two. You can still keep your job after you withdraw from the CCP. It’s really about a moral choice to stand up for justice when we distance ourselves from the CCP in our hearts. Remain kind and help others if you can.”
The man then agreed to quit CCP. He was very grateful to Ms. Ma's call.
