(Minghui.org) I am 65 years old and a leader of a village in southern China. Our village has 207 families, the largest in the area.
My family had been the target of discrimination by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because we were classified as lower class, until the policy was changed and land was divided between all households.
I was then appointed as leader of the village by the CCP officials. Since then, I have been brainwashed during all kinds of meetings, and my thinking gradually changed; I completely forgot that our family experienced discrimination in the past.
A dozen villagers from my group began to practice Falun Dafa (aka Falun Gong) in 1998. They told me how good Falun Dafa is, and how Dafa cured the chronic illnesses that they had suffered.
Falun Dafa came under attack by former Communist Party head Jiang Zemin’s on July 20, 1999. It was banned and maligned by the CCP. As a result, many Dafa practitioners stopped practicing cultivation.
People with a firm faith in Dafa experienced hardships and tribulations. It was unfortunate that I, the one born to be a CCP discrimination target, had become someone who helped the CCP suppress Falun Dafa.
The police asked me to monitor Dafa practitioners in my village. In 2003, a woman was detained for a month at a township outside of our county because she practiced Falun Dafa. She had two underage children who were left unattended at home. By the time she returned, the weeds in front of her house were more than five feet tall. The scene was miserable!
Since I followed the CCP to persecute good people, I had amassed a lot of karma and was diagnosed with late stage cancer. However, the woman who was detained because of me, didn’t give up on me. She took the initiative to come to my house to explain the truth about Falun Dafa patiently so that I understood that I had been blinded by the CCP's propaganda. I felt guilty and ashamed for what I had done.
She suggested that I go online to declare everything I did in the past harmed Dafa, and to promise not do participate in the persecution any longer. I agreed immediately and wrote the following statement:
“What I did against Dafa and Dafa practitioners was wrong, and I had committed a crime. I solemnly declare that I regret what I had done, and ask that Master Li Hongzhi (Dafa's founder) forgive me. I also used my real name to quit the CCP and its youth organizations.
With this statement I would also like to tell all Chinese, who still do not know the truth; please find Falun Dafa practitioners and learn the truth. Don’t make the mistake I did and help the CCP persecute good people.”
My health is now improving. I want to sincerely thank Master Li for his compassion! Thank you Falun Dafa practitioners for clarifying the truth to me, and giving me the opportunity to choose a good future.
I will never forget what Master Li has done for me. “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is good!”
