(Minghui.org) I am a 68-year-old woman who lives in the countryside. I began to practice Falun Dafa in 1998. Master Li (the founder) teaches us to be a good person by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I study the Fa, do the exercises, consider others’ needs first, and improve my xinxing.
I used to live near a dirt road in our village, which was not easy to walk on during rainy days. Practitioners and I paved the road.
After a big snowstorm, the practitioners would first clear the road in the village. Then some practitioners continued to clear the road outside of the village toward the north, and others the road leading south. The practitioners in the neighboring two villages did the same. Eventually, the road from our village to the neighboring villages in both directions was cleared.
Even now, some people whom we meet when clarifying the truth about Dafa, still remember us. When they learned where we came from, they would say, “Oh, I know that village in that township. There are Falun Dafa practitioners in the nearby villages who have paved the road and cleared the road after it snowed. People nearby all admire the people in that village. They are so lucky. It would be really nice if there were Falun Dafa practitioners in our village.” People are still talking about the good deeds done by practitioners.
Once, a fellow practitioner went to see a patient in a hospital. After the assistant nurse learned where she was from, the assistant nurse immediately said, “My mother’s family is from that township. The people in the nearby villages are really blessed. Falun Dafa practitioners clear the roads when needed.
I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t cultivate Dafa. I used to suffer from multiple illnesses and was unable to take care of myself. After practicing Falun Dafa I recovered from my illnesses.
I went twice to Beijing to appeal for Dafa since 2000 and was sent to a forced labor camp each time, for a total of six years. Because I kept clarifying the truth, I have been detained seven times, totaling more than 100 days.
In the forced labor camp, because I refused to be “transformed”, I had to watch videos that slandered Dafa. I had to stand for three days and nights, and my legs swelled. I was deprived of sleep and was not allowed to take a shower or go to the restroom. I was forced to do hard labor 13 to 14 hours a day. When my son came a long way to visit me, he was not allowed to see me.
During these years of being detained for raising awareness about the persecution, I missed my son's wedding and the birth of their son. I didn’t help him much financially either.
My son comes back to visit me every Chinese New Year. My grandson goes to school now. My son asked me to stay with his family, so he could support me financially. He thought that it was too hard for me to take care of the apple trees by myself. My grandson told me that his dad had "reserved a room for Grandma."
I told my son that he didn’t have to visit me every year, which would be rather expensive. It is pretty cold here in the winter. His wife and child might not be used to such weather, and his mother-in-law would feel lonely by herself during the Chinese New Year. I had a mission to awaken people's conscience and had a lot of things to do. I couldn’t stop as long as the Fa-rectification continued. The neighbors could help me in the fields, and I could hire temporary helpers to do the watering. There was enough income from the apple harvest. I prepared 50kg of peanut oil for him and 1,000 yuan for my grandson. Besides my own expenses, I had money to produce truth-clarifying materials. I was not lonely and there was a Fa-study group at home. There was no need to worry about me.
My son's mind was eased and he sent me 5,000 yuan to use for anything that made me happy.
After Master published the article “Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World’s People” (The Essentials of Diligent Progress Vol. III), I started to clarify the truth and advised people to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). With the help of practitioners, my home became a materials production site for truth-clarifying materials. After group Fa-study, practitioners would take some materials with them. At that time, since I experienced financial difficulties, practitioners helped me buy the computer, printer, and paper. I had the materials to distribute and also provided some for practitioners in other villages.
When the printer experienced problems, I took it to the city to get help from practitioners or took it to the repair shop. The box of printer paper was heavy to carry. I would ask the shop owner to help take it to the bus station. After getting off the bus, I would tie the box to my old bicycle and take it home. Gradually, I had some savings and purchased a second-hand electric tricycle in 2018.
Once I couldn’t find the key for the electric tricycle when I returned to the tricycle. It would be dark if I walked back home to get the spare key. I took off my cotton jacket and my scarf and tied them together with one end to the handlebar of the tricycle and the other end on my shoulder. An over 60-year-old woman dragged the tricycle through the winding country road, uphill and downhill, all the way back home.
No matter where I go, I would take amulets and truth-clarifying materials whenever I participated in events or visited friends and family members. I would clarify the truth and advise people to quit the CCP.
After the CCP’s Coronavirus spread, cities and villages have been in lockdown. Master said, “If you can commit your mind, no difficulties can stop you. I would say that there is not a problem.” (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun)
I suggested to fellow practitioners to distribute the materials related to the virus in the village since we couldn’t get out. Those who had quit the CCP would have a deeper understanding, and those who hadn’t might awaken to the truth. We distributed the materials to more than 200 households in the village. The effect was very good.
I decided to prepare materials for two neighboring villages as well since the effect was very good in our village. I first borrowed some paper, and later bought a box of paper. When the materials were ready, and I was going to deliver them, we experienced heavy snow. It was the first snow of the winter. Because of the lockdown, there were people watching the road to the village day and night. It would be too difficult to walk through the mountain with snow on the ground. I thought about it and decided to take the road since we were doing a noble deed.
I asked for Master Li’s help and took the materials with me. I just wanted to deliver the materials on time, and not delay awakening people's conscience. No one was on the road to the village. There were no footprints on the road. I stepped one step at a time. It took me nearly an hour to reach the practitioner’s home. The practitioner was surprised to see me and asked me to take a rest and warm-up. I told her that I wanted to go back before sending righteous thoughts at noon. When I left there, it was still snowing. I recited “When it’s difficult to endure, you can endure it. When it’s impossible to do, you can do it.” (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun). I arrived at home just 10 minutes before it was time to send righteous thoughts.
