(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 44 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Fengqin Scheduled for Trial
Ms. Zhang Fengqin from Shanghai was arrested by officers from the Wanggang Police Station on June 19, 2019, and is being held in the Pudong District Detention Center. She is scheduled to be tried by the Fengxian Court on July 17, 2020.
2. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Twelve Practitioners Held in Detention Center, Five of Them Released
Ms. Huang Yanzhi, Ms. Lin Jieshan, Ms. Jiang Xi’e, Ms. Zeng Jinglan, and Ms. Wu Yueyin were released from the Jieyang City Detention Center on July 14, 2020.
Ms. Cheng Hongyuan, Ms. Yao Shaohong, Ms. Liu Chunlan, Ms. Li Qing, Mr. Huang Jianmin and his wife, and Ms. Wang Jiechun are still being held there.
3. [Tianjin] Seven Practitioners Harassed
In May 2020, the Ninghe District Police Department instructed its police stations and neighborhood committees to go to practitioners' homes and demand that they give up practicing Falun Dafa.
Ms. Li Shuyun was harassed by officers from the Lutai Police Station and the Zhaojiacheng Police Station.
Ms. Zhai Huanru, Ms. Han Shuyun, Ms. Yue Dongmei, and Ms. Zhu Qiuzhen were also harassed.
Mr. Xu Guitai from the Ninghe District Water Resources Bureau has been forced to attend a full day brainwashing class each week in his work unit. Several of his colleagues force him to read articles that slander Falun Dafa. The bureau management said they will send him to a brainwashing center if he doesn't stop practicing Falun Dafa.
Ms. Du Yanhong from the Ninghe District Livestock and Fisheries Bureau was threatened by her work unit that she will be taken to a brainwashing center if she does not give up practicing Falun Dafa.
4. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ren Under Surveillance
Ms. Ren, 80, from Dongying City was reported by her neighbor. Officers installed a surveillance camera near her home, arrested any practitioners who visited her, and provided financial incentives to encourage Ms. Ren's neighbors to report on her activities. The reward money is worth several thousand yuan.
5. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Shumei Harassed
Ms. Wang Shumei was harassed by officers from the Yijia Police Station in early July 2020. They demanded that she write a guarantee statement to give up her practice, threatening to come back if she refused.
6. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Zhongshi Deprived of Pension
Mr. Wang Zhongshi from Zibo City was arrested on May 14, 2009. He was released on May 16, 2019. The Shandong Aluminum Plant, his former employer, intentionally and quietly terminated his pension, reclassifying Mr. Wang as deceased.
Mr. Wang has been asking them to correct the classification, but plant managers Zhu Shouhe and Song Guowei have not taken any action, giving various excuses.
7. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Mr. Hou Chunquan and His Wife Harassed
Mr. Hou Chunquan, 80, and his wife from Taian City were harassed by Dongxizhu Village Party secretary Hou Yanxing and three officers from the Fangcun Town Police Station on June 17, 2020. They coerced Mr. Hou and his wife into pressing their fingerprints on documents stating they will “not learn or practice Falun Gong.”
8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Xiaoqin's Whereabouts Unknown, Mr. Dai Ming and His Wife Ms. Hu Anlan Detained
Ms. Zhang Xiaoqin, in her 50s, from Chongqing was arrested by police officers on July 2, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong pamphlets. Her home was ransacked. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Dai Ming and his wife, Ms. Hu Anlan, from Chongqing were also arrested. Ms. Hu’s case was submitted to the Nanchuan Procuratorate. Mr. Dai was held in the Fuling Detention Center for 38 days, then an additional ten days in a brainwashing center.
9. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zheng Weili Deprived of Pension
Ms. Zheng Weili from Qiqihar City has been persecuted for her faith. She was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2008, and was reported to the Heilongjiang Province Police Department by a SWAT team officer after being involved in a car accident on November 9, 2019.
Her monthly pension was reduced by 1,027 yuan from January to June 2020. As of July, she has not received any pension.
10. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Qian Shuju Arrested
Ms. Qian Shuju, 70, from Deyang City was arrested on the morning of July 5, 2020. Her home was ransacked.
11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners and Two Family Members Arrested and Released
Ms. Li Shuzhen’s home was raided by two officers from the Ganjingzi Domestic Security Division and seven officers from the Paoya Police Station at around 6 a.m. on July 11, 2020. The officers used a master key to enter her home, and confiscated Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong's founder, printers, computers, and other personal belongings. Ms. Li and two family members were arrested and taken to the police station. The two family members were released. Ms. Li was released at around 1:30 a.m.
Mr. Wang and Ms. Hao from Dalian City were arrested at their own homes by officers from the Quanshui Police Station in the early hours of July 11, 2020. Their homes were ransacked. They were later released.
12. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liang Shuiqing Taken to Detention Center
Ms. Liang Shuiqing from Qiqihar City was arrested by officer Li Yize and others from the Wenhua Road Police Station. Ms. Liang was taken to the Tailai County Detention Center.
13. [Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province] Five Practitioners Taken to Detention Center
Dr. Zhao (female, given name not known), Ms. Chen Yunli, Ms. Huang Ernan, Ms. Yuan Sannan, and Ms. Lao Nan were arrested at home by dozens of agents from the 610 Office and officers from the Domestic Security Division on April 25, 2020. They were taken to the Mengzi Detention Center.
14. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Case Against Three Family Members of Mr. Xu Zhangqing Submitted to Procuratorate
Three members of Mr. Xu Zhangqing's family were arrested and taken to a detention center on September 20, 2019. Their cash, deposit receipts, their child's lucky money, money to purchase merchandise for their business, and other items, totaling over 500,000 yuan, were confiscated. They have been held in a detention center for over nine months. The Xiaonan Procuratorate submitted their cases to the Anlu Procuratorate in Hubei Province.
15. [Tianjin] Ms. Yue Huaifang Taken to Prison
Ms. Yue Huaifang from Tianjin was arrested by officers from the Lutai Police Station on September 5, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The Ninghe Court sentenced her to two years in prison. She was taken to the Tianjin Women's Prison on June 16, 2020.
16. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yan Qing’e Harassed
Ms. Yan Qing’e was harassed at home by six officers from the Qiting Police Station and the Songbu Police Station on the morning of July 13, 2020. The officers tore up her Falun Gong drawings on the wall, ripped up her hanging decorations, seized a picture of Falun Gong's founder, and threatened her.
17. [Tianjin] Mr. Li Jinyu Detained
Mr. Li Jinyu from Tianjin was arrested in his neighborhood's underground parking lot by officers from the Tianjin Station Security Bureau and the New Binhai District Police Department at 8 p.m. on July 13, 2020. The officers searched his car and confiscated Falun Gong books and keepsakes that he brought back from his hometown in northeast China.
He was detained by the Binhai Police Department and is being held at Xinhe Neighborhood Police Station.
