(Minghui.org) I once spoke to a man about Falun Dafa at a market. I asked him if he knew that quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) could keep him safe.
“Do you know who I am?” he asked. “Do you dare to tell me this?”
“It doesn’t matter to me who you are,” I responded. “You're a person first, and you have the right to protect yourself.” He said that he was the head of the police station.”
“It doesn't matter if you're the director of the police department,” I calmly replied. “I'm still going to tell you this, because I want you to be saved and to not commit a sin.”
He asked me where I was from. When I told him, he smiled and said that he had a relative in the same village. I said, “That means that we have a predestined relationship, and this gives me all the more reason to talk to you.”
I asked him if he knew that China was called the land of the divine.
He looked surprised and didn't say anything, so I continued: “Since this is the land of the divine, it suggests that there are divine ones here, but the CCP doesn't want us to believe in this.”
“Why do you oppose the CCP?” he asked.
“Everyone should oppose it.” I replied. “The government has gone to great lengths to go against the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and it is responsible for the moral breakdown of society. Isn't this a disaster for our country and the people? Shouldn't we all oppose it?
“Since the Party seized control in China, its ongoing political movements have contributed to the deaths of over 80 million people. Eliminating the CCP is heaven's will. Quitting the CCP will save your life. Quitting the CCP lets heaven know your stance.”
He said, “I understand, but I can't quit the CCP because I need my job.”
I said, “There's no harm in you quitting the Party. Your job status won't change, but you'll gain a safe future.” He eventually agreed to quit.
I was talking to people about Falun Dafa and distributing informational materials at a market in April 2018, when I was reported to the police. I was arrested and taken to the police station. I was handcuffed to an iron chair and interrogated. They told me to sign their report, but instead I wrote “Illegal Interrogation.”
I was taken to a detention center and held for 15 days before my family bailed me out.
I looked inward after I got home. What loophole had I missed that the old forces had taken advantage of? I had been doing the three things that practitioners should do, so why was I still being persecuted? I found a lot of attachments, like showing off, resentment, lust, arrogance, and so on.
By looking inward, I learned that cultivation was not a matter of just carrying out tasks—I had to improve my xinxing. I didn't look inward and didn't eliminate my attachments. Instead I accepted the old forces’ arrangements, but I didn't realize it.
I increased the number of times I sent forth righteous thoughts and the amount of time I spent studying the Fa.
When sending righteous thoughts, I saw a large area of toad-like bugs and eliminated them as soon as they appeared. It didn't take me long to clear them out.
The head of the local police station came to my home in April 2019 and told me to come to the police station. He said, “Your bail has expired. We need to transfer your case to the procuratorate for trial.”
I was confused.
I later asked another practitioner, “I was released by the prosecutor's office, so why am I facing trial? Does the prosecutor's office or the police station have the final say?”
The practitioner responded, “Master has the final say.”
After I heard that, my righteous thoughts became stronger. I thought: “Yes! Master is in charge of everything.”
After I got home, I recited Master's article “Expounding on the Fa.” The more I recited it, the stronger were my righteous thoughts.
When the head of the police station came again, I told him, “You can't keep harassing practitioners. You're not only persecuting me, you're persecuting Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, which is the truth of the universe. You persecute kindness in the name of the law. You can't do this.”
He had sweat on his brow and didn't say a word. I knew that he understood.
A few days later, he came again and said, “This time everything is okay. We won't bother you again.”
Through this tribulation, I learned to treat those in law enforcement with neither fear nor hatred, but compassion. When we have compassion and kindness and deny the persecution, Master will help us resolve tribulations.
