(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dunhua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Huimin Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Ma Huimin was sentenced to one and a half years in prison by the Yanbian Prefecture Court in May 2021. 

2. [Tianjin] Elderly Ms. Yan Peihua Sentenced

Ms. Yan Peihua from Ninghe District is nearly 80 years old. It was recently learned that she was sentenced to three years in prison with four years of probation and fined 5000 yuan by the Ninghe District Court. After she was sentenced, Ms. Yan was taken to the Chezhan Detention Center and was interrogated at night. She was scolded by police officers during the interrogation. Ms. Yan was placed under 15-day detention and was detained in the Ninghe County Detention Center. 

In the detention center, Ms. Yan was not allowed to read the Falun Gong teachings or do the exercises. She was punished by being made to face the wall. Eating, sleeping and using the toilet were all done in the same room. Mouse droppings were found in the steamed buns, dirt was visible on the stewed potatoes and dead bugs floated in the cabbage soup.

During her detention, her home was ransacked by police officers including Fu Naisheng. Her personal belongings including her Falun Gong books, tape recordings and the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, were confiscated.

3. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Have Second Hearing

Ms. Wang Xia, Ms. Cui Guifen and Wang Muyi (gender unknown) will be tried again in the Dongying District Court at 9 a.m. on September 26, 2021. 

The three practitioners were arrested in November 2020. Ms. Wang Xia was released on bail due to her physical condition. Ms. Cui Guifen and Wang Muyi were taken to the Dongying City Detention Center and have been detained for more than 10 months.

The first hearing against the three practitioners was held in the Dongying District Court in June 2021. 

4. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Hong Shanyu Harassed

Ms. Hong Shanyu was harassed at home on September 23, 2021. Director Long and two other male staff members from the Wuyi Community in Shigu District went to Ms. Hong’s home and pressured her to sign a guarantee statement to renounce Falun Gong, which she refused. 

5. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Lan Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zhao Lan, 60, from the Tiexi District has been missing since August 25, 2021. Her family members looked for her and finally learned that she was arrested by police officers in the Huanggu District. Ms. Zhao is currently detained in the Zhaohua Detention Center in the Yuhong District. No one is allowed to visit her. 

6. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Fu Wanhua and Mr. Tu Hong’an Missing

Mr. Fu Wanhua and Mr. Tu Hong’an from the Shashi District have not been heard from for more than one week. Before they were missing, they were harassed by the local 610 Office and community staff members and pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which they firmly refused. It is believed that they were arrested and taken to a brainwashing center. 

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Yanjie Harassed

Ms. Yang Yanjie received two calls from the Northwest Street Police Station on September 23, 2021 and was told to go to the police station to have a blood sample taken for DNA extraction. Ms. Yang firmly refused.

Ms. Yang was detained in the Liaoning Provincial Women’s Prison for several years. 

8. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Fenglan Harassed

Ren Fanchao from the Judicial Office of Xinnong Township and Zhang Guibo, the security village official in Xinnong Township, went to the home of Ms. Wang Fenglan’s parents on September 15, 2021. They wanted Ms. Wang to sign a guarantee statement. She was not there when they came. 

9. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Yangzhuangke Township Police Station and officials from Dongshangping Village went to harass the practitioners in the village including Ms. Liu Yinhua, Ms. Zhang Xiuying, and Ms. Liu Gui’e. The practitioners were asked whether they still practiced Falun Gong and they were videotaped. 

10. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xue Naxi Arrested

Ms. Xue Naxi from Hutun Town, Chiping County, was arrested by officers from the Jiangdian Police Station in Gaotang County on the morning of September 18, 2021. 

11. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Hong Chang Faces Trial

Mr. Hong Chang will be tried in the Xihu District Court at 9:30 a.m. on September 28, 2021. 

12. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Suying Arrested

Ms. Guo Suying from the Economic Development Zone went to the Shenjiatun Police Station on the morning of September 19, 2021 to apply for an ID card to replace the one she lost. She was arrested. Ms. Guo is currently detained in the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center. 

13. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Lu Cuirong was harassed at her workplace by officers from the Suci Police Station in Dongpo District at the beginning of September 2021. They kept photographing her until she sternly stopped them.

Ms. Shao Yuxia from Wanshen Town lives in Meishan City. She was constantly harassed by local police officers and Meishan City 610 Office staff. They threatened her with her son’s job in order to pressure her to sign a guarantee statement. 

Mr. Zhou Yong lives in Yongxin Village, Yongshou Town. He has been harassed by people from the Dongpo District 610 Office and the Political and Legal Affairs Committee. Her parents scolded him under the pressure. 

14. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Shuying Harassed Repeatedly

Ms. Zhong Shuying, 77, lives in Qiaodong Community of Renli Town. She was harassed by Luo, secretary of the community Party committee in July or August 2021 and was pressured to sign a guarantee statement. She sternly refused. 

A few days later, her daughter-in-law was called and was told to sign a guarantee statement on behalf of Ms. Zhong, which she refused. 

Ms. Zhong was followed by some people on September 1, 2021. They entered her home and ransacked it. All her Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. 

From September 2 - 6, 2021, Ms. Zhong’s door was knocked on several times, but she didn’t open it.
