(Minghui.org) Fu Zhenghua, Chinese Minister of Justice and former Central 610 Office director, was investigated on October 2, 2021, for “serious violation of discipline and law.” He is the 7th Central 610 Office or Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC) top official taken down in recent years.
As a highly secret agency, the 610 Office was established on June 10, 1999, under orders from former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Jiang Zemin. Jiang vowed to eradicate Falun Gong within three months and launched the 610 agency to implement the persecution policy at all levels of government and throughout society. Tens of millions of Falun Gong practitioners were turned into enemies of the state because of their faith in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
As a result, the CCP Central 610 Office and its lower level agencies have instructed police, procuratorate, court, justice, and other systems to harass, detain, and torture practitioners. In addition, they have fabricated countless lies to defame Falun Gong and incite hatred from the public. One example is the staged self-immolation incident that occurred on January 23, 2001. As a result, many people turned against innocent practitioners, further escalating the suppression of Falun Gong.
In traditional Chinese culture, it is generally accepted that “good is rewarded with good, and evil meets with evil.” That is, our actions bear consequences.
Several top Central 610 Office officials have been taken down in recent years. For instance:
* Former director Li Dongsheng was charged with abuse of power and bribery in 2013, and sentenced in 2016.* Zhou Yongkang, Central PLAC Party Secretary, was investigated in 2014 and received a life sentence in the following year.* Zhou Benshun, former Central PLAC Secretary General, was investigated in 2015 and sentenced in 2017.*Zhang Yue, a former Central 610 Office leader and Hebei Province PLAC Party Secretary, was investigated in 2016.* Sun Lijun, Deputy Director of Central 610 Office, was removed in early 2020.* Peng Bo, Deputy Director of Central 610 Office, was also investigated in early 2021.
According to data compiled by Minghui.org, between 1999 and 2020, a total of 1,689 officials in the 610 Office system have received retribution for their bad deeds. The retribution came in different forms, including car accidents, incurable diseases, sudden deaths, investigation, imprisonment, and so on. In 2019, 38 of the 529 documented retribution cases concerned agents from the 610 Office system. Similarly, there were 392 retribution cases in 2020, and 51 of them were related to the 610 Office.
Here are some examples. Five officials from Huangpi District 610 Office in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, went to ransack a fireworks factory on September 18, 2001. They included Hu Ligu (deputy section chief), Li Rong, Wu Zhijun, Zhang Fuzhong, and Feng Changcheng. All five of them died during an explosion in the factory.
Zhou Aijun was PLAC Party Secretary and 610 Office director of Pingxiang Town in Changde City, Hunan Province. When Zhou rode in a truck to arrest a Falun Gong practitioner on September 10, 2002, the vehicle ran over a small rock. The rock ricocheted back into the vehicle, hitting Zhou in the head. Zhou died on the next day.
Wang Zhongjun was a 610 Office director in Dingan County, Hainan Province. Because of him, dozens of practitioners in the region were sent to labor camps, brainwashing centers, or prisons. When practitioners urged him not to harm the innocent, Wang dismissed them. “I do not believe in retribution,” he said. Within one month, his only son died of liquefied petroleum gas leakage and poisoning. On May 8, 2004, his wife committed suicide.
Zhang Yuxia was a 51-year-old 610 director in Yuanbaoshan Town of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. She drowned in a water tank in her own home in later November 2004.
Such a cause and effect relationship was well known in the ancient times. Ji Xiaolan, a renowned scholar in the Qing Dynasty, wrote in Yuewei Caotang Biji that retribution sometimes happened immediately and sometimes at a later time. It served as a warning for people to discipline themselves instead of acting recklessly.
After witnessing the fate of 610 Office officials, many people thought about it twice before taking the position. For examples, several directors and Party secretaries of Huanggang 610 Office in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, had sudden deaths. Since then, hardly any officials wanted to fill that position.
The CCP changed the name of the 610 Office a few times over the years. One time it was called “Leading Group for the Prevention and Handling of Cult Issues.” Later on it was changed to Stability Maintenance Office, and then Comprehensive Management Office. But its responsibility of persecuting Falun Gong has always remained the same.
As an extrajudicial agency, the 610 Office has unparalleled power to direct other government agencies to participate in the persecution. As a result, many officers took the 610 Office positions, driven by the power and financial interests.
Besides the 610 Office, CCP officials in other agencies involved in the suppression of Falun Gong also faced consequences. Pan Dongsheng, 57, was a deputy mayor and police chief in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. Last month, he was reported to have died at work.
Pan was an officer responsible for internet censorship since 2000. In 2010, he was promoted to be an IT manager for Fujiang Province Police Department, He was also involved in the Golden Shield project, a system that monitors Chinese citizens. Fuzhou and Sanming, two cities where Pan used to work as an official, have been among the worst places where Falun Gong is suppressed.
The cyber censorship tool that Pan contributed to is a major tool that persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. According to information from Minghui, a large number of practitioners were arrested after they were identified by security cameras or other monitoring devices.
Despite the continued cover-up in the past few decades, more and more people have recognized the importance of rejecting the CCP for a better future.
