(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Xiuxia Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

6. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Suilian’s Granddaughter Prevented from Attending University
7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Guiling Arrested and Detained

12. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lou Yan and Mr. Bai Xuesong Arrested
1. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Xiuxia Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Ms. Li Xiuxia was reported to the police and arrested at a market on July 4, 2019, for telling people the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was later sentenced to four years in prison.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Imprisoned
Ms. Dong Wenxiu, Ms. Wang Yurong, and Ms. Wan Fang from the Xiangfang District were arrested by officers from Railway Police Department on September 11, 2019. They were detained in the Harbin City No.2 Detention Center. They were tried via an online virtual courtroom by the Harbin Railway Transportation Court on September 9 and 14, 2020. Ms. Dong was sentenced to two years in prison, Ms. Wang to three years, and Ms. Wan to four years on September 17, 2020.
Ms. Dong Wenxiu and Ms. Wang Yurong have appealed to the Harbin Railway Transportation Intermediate Court. It was recently learned that all three were transferred to Heilongjiang Women’s Prison on December 31, 2020. They are currently detained in the Assembly Ward and will be there for three months. Their families were told to deposit 300 yuan for their family members to purchase basic necessities during their detention in the Assembly Ward. The detainees in the Assembly Ward are not allowed to be visited and are not allowed to spend over 100 yuan per month.
3. [Pingding County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Qiaorun and Ms. Mu Xindi Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Zhang Qiaorun was sentenced to one year in prison and Ms. Mu Xindi to seven months in the Pingding County Court on January 2, 2021. They are being held in the Yangquan Detention Center.
4. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Ju Liqin, Ms. Yuan Hua, and Ms. Yang live in Lian’an Village, Chaluhe Town. They had been repeatedly harassed and pressured to sign the guarantee statement by local police and staff of the county 610 Office in November 2020 during the Zero-out Campaign.
5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Fan Xiufang Harassed
Three people from the Zhengyang Street Sub-district Office went to Ms. Fan Xiufang’s home on the morning of January 20, 2021. Ms. Fan’s son was at home at that time and was pressured to sign the guarantee statement on behalf of his mother. If he refused, he was told, it might affect Ms. Fan’s pension in the future and implicate Ms. Fan’s children.
6. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Suilian’s Granddaughter Prevented from Attending University
Ms. Zhou Shuilian lives in Heiluao Village, Qingquan Town, Xishui County. Her granddaughter was admitted to a university in the autumn of 2020. However, she failed the political background inspection because her grandmother Ms. Zhou practices Falun Gong. Ms. Zhou’s son-in-law tried to resolve the issue by contacting the people in seven government departments but they were all afraid to help him. Eventually her granddaughter was disqualified and not allowed to attend the university. Ms. Zhou's family blamed her.
7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Xu Xiaomei was arrested in her workplace, a hair salon, by officers from the Xinmin Police Department on January 20, 2021. She was taken to the Gongzhutun Police Station but was released the next day.
Ms. Li was tracked by police officers but managed to evade them. Her current whereabouts are unknown. Her home is under surveillance by two police cars. Ms. Xiaofang visited Ms. Li’s home. Her whereabouts are currently unknown. She may have been arrested.
Mr. Cao Yang is a teacher in the Redwood Intelligent English Center. He was arrested at work around 6 p.m. on January 20, 2021. His home was ransacked and his Dafa books were taken away. He was detained in the Xinnong Township Police Station and later managed to escape.
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Guiling Arrested and Detained
Ms. Li Guiling from the Gaoxin District was arrested on January 6, 2021, and subjected to a ten-day detention. After her family asked about her at the police station nine days later, she was transferred to Weizigou Detention Center. Eleven days later she was taken to the Changchun City No.4 Detention Center.
9. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Chunying Detained
Ms. Zhao Chunying from the Chaoyang District was arrested and her home was ransacked in April or May 2020. She was later released on bail because she had symptoms of high blood pressure.
Ms. Zhao was taken into custody by local police around December 10, 2020. She has been detained in the Chaoyang District Detention Center for over a month.
10. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Shumin Detained
Ms. Wang Shumin is currently detained in No.6 Ward of Tianjin Women’s Prison.
11. [Fuping County, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Meng Fanhong Missing
There’s been no word from Mr. Meng Fanhong in Xi’an City for over a month. He is from Fuping County and has not returned home.
12. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lou Yan and Mr. Bai Xuesong Arrested
Ms. Lou Yan from Anshan City and Mr. Bai Xuesong from Haicheng City visited a fellow practitioner in Anshan City around noon on January 20, 2021. They were arrested by three police officers as soon as they got upstairs.
