(Minghui.org) Recently, several relatives of mine passed away in close succession. Having to attend so many funerals in succession, I saw many of my friends and family tormented by grief. But within this grief, there was also a more subtle sentiment, one that manifested itself less in tears and more in sighs: the recognition of life's impermanence.
“What do we live for? We all work hard for decades, and eventually, we die. What can we take away with us? Fame? Fortune? Love? Hatred?”
I believe that everyone who's been to a funeral might know this feeling. At funerals, people are often reminded of the ultimate question of life—when we die, do we really have nothing? And is there another life after death?
When you think about it, if people had no soul and life has no reincarnation, then existence is truly a cruel and terrible thing.
However, as science has expanded further into quantum mechanics and other high-tech means, we've been able to study more previously untouched phenomena, such as near-death situations, hypnosis, the presence of a soul, and reincarnation. Many instances of this research substantiate the claim that people do have a soul in addition to their physical bodies, and that after death, there is indeed a phenomenon of reincarnation. In addition to the human realm in which we live, there exists other space-times. New discoveries are constantly being made about the mysteries of life.
Throughout the ages, most humans have believed in the existence of God, Buddha, and reincarnation for thousands of years. It’s only after the introduction of communism that such traditional beliefs were gradually lost.
In the East, for thousands of years, the Chinese people believed in the divine principle that good is rewarded and evil punished.
In the West, people followed the teachings of the saints—such as Moses, Jesus Christ, and the Virgin Mary—to be good people. If they did so, they also believed that they will be blessed while they are alive and will ascend to heaven after they die.
In addition, cultivation is a long-established and mysterious facet of human civilization, whose significance extends beyond that of philosophy and fitness.
With the increasing decline of human morality, people no longer worship gods and Buddhas as they used to, and even promote an atheistic ideology. They mock practitioners of Buddhism and monasticism. Even monasteries and Taoist temples, which are supposed to be holy places for the soul, are rarely filled with people who actually cultivate themselves.
In 1992, a Buddhist cultivation way by the name of Falun Dafa was spread in Changchun, China. It enabled its practitioners to truly cultivate themselves without leaving the secular world. As long as one reads its main text Zhuan Falun, improves one’s character according to the standards of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and does the five sets of meditation exercises, one can cultivate to an unexpectedly high level in a short period of time.
Falun Dafa explains the mysteries of the universe, life, and the human body at a fundamental level. It answers the three ultimate questions of “Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going?” It's a ladder to heaven that the Creator has left to us at this low point in human morality.
However, since 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been persecuting and suppressing Falun Dafa and its practitioners. The Party spread demonizing propaganda to deceive and brainwash the general public, turning people who do not know the truth away from Falun Dafa.
Falun Dafa requires its practitioners to improve their moral standards and state of mind in accordance with Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. True practitioners of Falun Dafa are pursuing the completion of their cultivation, and enlightenment that is beyond the mundane world. How can people like this be interested in worldly fame, profit, and power?
Then why does the Communist Party spare no effort in persecuting Falun Dafa? It has everything to do with the inhumanity of communism, which is revealed in three books: Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, The Ultimate Purpose of Communism, and How The Specter of Communism Is Ruling Our World. These books are now widely circulated around the world.
Why have Falun Dafa practitioners resisted the persecution for twenty-one years and why do they still persevere in telling people the truth about the persecution? It is out of compassion. People are heading on a dangerous path when they unknowingly violate the values that govern nature and morality. They are deceived by a force whose only purpose is to destroy humanity. But many people take this as “getting involved in politics” and believe that’s why the Communist Party targets Falun Dafa.
At present, human morality has deviated from the norms set by the divine, especially in recent times when the communist specter has taken control of the world step by step. In the East, it’s through violent revolution. But in the West, they are using peaceful means, influencing, infiltrating and gradually disintegrating the social systems that have maintained stability. This has caused good people to have less and less of a foothold in society as time goes on.
Today, through the drama of the U.S. election, many people have recognized—and realized—that a great catastrophe is before humanity.
Whatever the case, righteousness will prevail. “Heaven will eliminate the CCP” isn’t just a saying.
Over the years, Falun Dafa practitioners have risked their lives to tell the world that, “Falun Dafa is good,” and to persuade people to quit the CCP and its related organizations. It's all so that more people can escape the fate of being implicated with the CCP and have a better future.
At this time, Falun Dafa is really wonderful news for mankind, because people who believe in “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” will have a bright future.
“Fame and fortune are passing clouds; we come and go with two empty hands.” What do we live for? If we live with a purpose, understand where we come from and where we will go, we will not live our lives in vain. We'll be destined for a bright future.
