(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 34 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Shu Yulan and her elder sister, Ms. Shu Yulian, will be tried by the Taihu Court at 9:00 a.m. on March 16, 2021. The trial will be held in the Anqing Intermediate Court.
Ms. Rong Meiying, 71, has been closely monitored since March 3, 2021. Two plainclothes officers are stationed near her home and knock on her door to check if she is inside from time to time.
Ms. Tao Liyun has been monitored 24 hours a day since March 2021. Several people follow her whenever she leaves home.
Ms. Zhou Meijuan was monitored 24 hours a day by auxiliary officers around March 4, 2021.
Mr. Dai Yajun and his wife, Ms. Feng Shujie were arrested at home by officer Liu Qiang and others from the Hulin City Domestic Security Division. The officers ransacked their home and confiscated their Falun Gong books and materials, electronics, and other items. Ms. Feng was taken to the Jixi City Detention Center the same day for criminal detention. Mr. Dai was taken to the Hulin City Detention Center for five days of administrative detention.
Mr. Dai wrote an appeal letter for his wife’s release after he was released. He appealed in the police department on January 11, 2021, but was arrested for his appeal letter, which contained information about Falun Gong. The couple’s cases were submitted to the Mishan Procuratorate. The procuratorate will submit the cases to the court on March 19, 2021.
Li Zhi (gender unknown) was taking a high speed train from Xiangyang to Hankou. On the platform, police checked Li’s identity card, which was flagged. Officers onboard questioned and searched Li, seized six Falun Gong pamphlets and a copy of Zhuan Falun, and brought Li to the officers waiting on the platform. Li was taken to a police department near the railroad station, questioned, and ordered to sign on the record. Li refused and was released two hours later.
Ms. Jiang was arrested on March 4, 2021. She was released. Her companions, Ms. Zhang and her husband, were harassed.
Ms. Yu Shufen was arrested and taken to the Chengxi Police Station on February 6, 2021 after someone reported her when she distributed Falun Gong flyers in a community. 610 Office agent Zhao Shisheng led three officers to her home at noon, seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, copies of Minghui Weekly, cash worth more than 100 yuan, amulets, and other items. She did not cooperate with police andclarified the facts to them. She was released that afternoon.
Ms. Xie Jiu’e, Ms. Wen Yuhong, and Ms. Gao Ying were harassed at home by two officers from the Jiuduhe Town Police Station on March 3, 2021.
Ms. Wen was not at home. The officers seized her exercise music player and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and tore a couplet off the wall.
The officers tore down a talisman and a “fortune” word décor from the wall in Ms. Xie’s home. Her daughter-in-law reasoned with them. The officers threatened her, took her identity card, and photographed her.
The officers went to Ms. Gao’s home and harassed her.
Mr. Wang Weizhi, Mr. Yun Zhonggang, Zhang Shujian (gender unknown), and Ms. Di Lianxia worked for the Linjiang City Railroad Station. Ms. Di’s husband, Mr. Wang Mingzhi, was persecuted to death. They were harassed by officers from the Linjiang City Police Department and the Xinshi Police Station on February 22, 2021. The officers questioned if they still practiced Falun Gong, distributed Falun Gong flyers, etc.
Ms. Zhao Yufen was arrested by Hongqiao District Police in March 2012 and sentenced to six years in prison by the Hongqiao District Court for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was recently threatened by clerks of the Hedong Social Security Center. They said they would deduct her pension which she got during her imprisonment, totally 160,000 yuan, and reduce her pension to 17,000 yuan from her current amount, 28,000 yuan.
Ms. Yao Guizhen was sentenced to four-year-and-three-month in prison and fined 20,000 yuan. Her appeal was denied by the Jing’an Intermediate Court on November 29, 2020. She is being held in the Baoshan Detention Center. Her pension has been suspended since January 2021.
Ms. Li Yan saw someone sitting in the community entrance who was monitoring her on March 3, 2021.
The procuratorate issued an arrest warrant against Ms. Zhang Yucui on February 23, 2021 after she was released on bail.
Ms. Xie Changzhi of Mengyang Town, Pengzhou City, was arrested by officers from the Juntun Police Station when she was drinking tea in a tea house on February 22, 2021. The officers took her to the police station, forcibly photographed her, took her fingerprints, and gave her a physical exam.
Officers from the Mengyang Town Police Station and the Juntun Police Station ransacked her home.
She was taken to the Pi County Detention Center at night. She was body searched and forced to recite prison rules. Guards held her identity card and cash worth 1,900 yuan. She was released on February 28.
Ms. Ying Wenyan was arrested in 2019 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was videotaped. Her home was ransacked. She was sentenced to one year in prison to be served outside prison. She was under house arrest for six months after being released on bail. Her sentence term is finished, but her case is still active and has been submitted to the court.
She returned from grocery shopping at 10:30 a.m. on March 5, 2021, and saw officers from the Shuiguohu Police Station and the Wuchang District Court at her home. A female officer from the court ordered her to answer questions, sign, and renounce Falun Gong. She refused.
Mr. Wang Zicheng will be tried for a second time in the Beijing Third Intermediate Court. The judge will be Wang Yu from Juvenile Court.
Ms. Liu Zhaoyun, 68, and her husband (not a practitioner) who live in Zhanghua Town, Huarong County, were returning home from visiting their daughter in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. Ms. Liu was carrying a Falun Gong book, several cash notes with Falun Gong messages, and a MP3 player while passing through the security check in the Humen High Speed Train Station in Dongguan. The couple was taken to the Railroad Station Police Station. Her husband was released to their son-in-law several hours later. Ms. Liu was questioned by police. Her daughter’s home was ransacked. She was transferred to an officer from the Chengzhong Police Station, Zhanghua Town, and a clerk from the community committee the next day. The two took her to the Chengzhong Police Station. She was released after signing a paper.
Ms. Zhao Zhirong of Huachuan County was arrested in a railroad station on March 4, 2021 after she took new mom helper training in Jiamusi City and was heading to Harbin City. Harbin City police had the Huachuan Police Department arrest her husband, Mr. Hu Fengchang, and their daughter on March 5. They were held in the Huachuan Police Department.
Ms. Li Yanxia was arrested by officers from the Tangxia Domestic Security Division and the Tianxin Police Station on February 8, 2021. The officers broke her door and safe box, seized US dollars, Renminbi, cell phones, computers, and car keys.
Her family and her lawyer went to the police station to see case officer Chen Rusong on March 4. They asked for her release and that her property be returned. Chen refused. The case was submitted to the procuratorate on March 9 and 10. Her family and her lawyer submitted a complaint to the Third Procurator, but the procuratorate rejected it without giving a reason.
Ms. Li is being held in the Dongguan City No. 2 Detention Center. She has been detained nearly 30 days.
Mr. Zhang Jingyuan’s case was submitted to the Dehui City Court. His wife, Ms. Ren Yongping, was acquitted on March 4, 2021.
