(Minghui.org) Over 30 Falun Gong practitioners are currently incarcerated in the Ninth Ward of Gongzhuling Prison, in Jilin Province, including Mr. Feng Kuiwen, who was sentenced to life for upholding his faith. He was shot by the police during his arrest. He suffered serious injuries.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Newly-admitted practitioners are first sent to the “New Admission” division and subjected to intensive torture designed to force them to renounce Falun Gong. They are then assigned to the other two regular divisions.
The guards often force the practitioners to watch brainwashing videos, shock them with electric batons, tie and hang them up by their wrists, deprive them of sleep, feed them with extremely salty food, but without providing any water.
Mr. Chu Guiyan was sentenced to an eight-year term. He was once deprived of sleep for a month, shocked with electric batons, and subjected to freezing torture when he was imprisoned in January 2020. His legs are now very sensitive to low temperatures. The guards constantly beat and verbally abused him, and sometimes held him in solitary confinement.
The guards many times tied his hands behind his back and his legs in a double-crossed position, pushed his head down to touch his knee, and then hung him up.

Mr. Chu’s wife, Ms. Bie Lihua, is also serving a five-year term at the Jilin Province Women’s Prison.
Mr. Zheng Weidong, 52, Mr. Liu Qingjie, in his 40s, Mr. Yue Naiming, around 58, Mr. Shi Xuwang, 68, and Mr. Dong Guangwen (also known as Dong Bowen), are deemed “stubbornly holding on to their faith” and forced to do unpaid labor.
Mr. Yue was taken to the prison on August 27, 2019 to serve a 3.5-year term. He developed tuberculosis, pleurisy, and pleural effusion in the “New Admission” division, and just recovered not long ago.
Mr. Yang Yucai, around 65, was taken to the prison in 2019. He suffered from chronic diarrhea and occasionally also had constipation. The prison kept postponing medical treatment for him, until his condition worsened. But even after receiving medical treatment, his condition showed little improvement.
Other practitioners currently being held in the Gongzhuling Prison (including other wards) include: Xu Hongyu, Sun Lei, Si Shaopeng, Ma Changqing, Sun Guichang, Wang Yuhao, Tian Piming, Tao Yanyu, Zhang, Guo Baojun, Yu Chunming, Chi Minxiang, Wen Zhiyong, Shao Yuning, Zhang Baodong, Wu Lei, Dai Zhongquan, Hu Yougang, Yang Guoshu, Sun Xianting, Fu Renjiang, Jing Zhixin, Ma Longbo, Liu Weixue, Liu Hongbin, Liu Meng, Qi Hui, Tan Li, Cui Tao, Fan Xiaochun, Yan Litao, Hao Kai, Li Mingyang, Shen Dong, Chu Guiyan, and Du He.
Mr. Du He is scheduled to be released on April 12, 2021.
