On May 13, 1992, Mr. Li Hongzhi first publicly introduced Falun Dafa to the public in China. Since then, Falun Dafa has spread quickly across China and in the rest of the world. Due to its popularity, the Chinese communist regime ordered a nationwide persecution of Falun Dafa in 1999. Despite the risk of being arrested, tortured and imprisoned, Falun Dafa practitioners have never wavered in their faith and they have been working hard to peacefully raise awareness about the persecution.
This painting is based on a true event where Falun Dafa practitioners held banners along a train track to tell train passengers the facts of the practice. The artist wants to dedicate this work to the 22nd World Falun Dafa Day on May 13, 2021.
