(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been conducting the so-called “zero-out” harassment campaign since last year. The campaign aims to force all Falun Dafa practitioners on the government's blacklist to renounce their faith. During the “zero-out” campaign, police departments, workplaces, and street residential committees resort to various tactics to try to deceive Dafa practitioners into renouncing their faith.
Falun Gong practitioners at Gudao Oil Production Plant of Sinopec Shenli Oilfield in Dongying City, Shandong Province has been targeted in the “zero-out” campaign since March 2021.
The company's CCP Committee, Petition Office, and Workers' Union together arranged meetings with practitioners, both current and retired employees, mostly with the presence of the police. During the meetings, practitioners were threatened with employment termination, pay and bonus deduction, or obstacles for their children in seeking jobs or promotions if they refused to renounce their faith in Falun Gong. Some practitioners were required to surrender their ID cards.
Falun Gong practitioners were asked to sign a statement, promising that they would not practice Falun Gong or pass out Falun Gong information pamphlets to the public. If any practitioner refused to cooperate, authorities pressured his/her family members and forced them to sign the statement on his/her behalf.
On March 8, Mr. Wang Dehong, an employee at the Steam Injection Service Center, was monitored by his co-workers. His managers restricted his personal movement in order to force him to sign prepared guarantee statements.
Hours after several leaders of the Gudao Oil Production Plant visited the police department on the morning of March 15, 2021, the Jindao Hotel owned by the oil plant was ordered to set up mobile monitoring systems in two meeting rooms, with the capacity to store surveillance videos up to one week.
For the next two weeks, multiple Falun Gong practitioners were ordered to go to the hotel. Several so-called experts, including Wang Zhiqiang and Wang Shiyong, were hired to brainwash them, coerce them to renounce Falun Gong, and sign the prepared guarantee statements.
The Gudao Oil Production Plant 610 Office instructed all subsidiary companies to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Li Bin was suspended from his job on April 1. He was put in isolation and forced to copy Chinese Communist Party History. His monthly bonus was deducted. Officials threatened that he would face even more severe punishments if he refused to sign the guarantee statements.
Ms. Chen Hailing was dismissed from her job on April 21 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. Yet she was required to report to work every day. Even so, Ms. Chen still performed her duty without complaint.
It was reported that relevant personnel would get monetary rewards with each practitioner signing the guarantee statements during the “zero-out” campaign. Practitioners who refused to participate in brainwashing were treated as absent from work.
