(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held a rally in front of the Chinese Consulate in Montreal on July 20, 2021, to call on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to stop the 22-year-long persecution. Passers-by signed the petition to end the suppression of this peaceful spiritual discipline, and several people expressed their outrage that the persecution continues after so many years.

Sylvia Russo, a career consultant who places overseas employees in Quebec, said, “This persecution must be stopped. Decades have passed and such things are still happening—it makes people indignant.”

“China (the CCP) does whatever it wants because it has not been sanctioned. We have seen support for Cuba protesters and sanctions against Russia. Why are there no sanctions against the CCP? They dare to do this because no one sanctions them.”

She said the whole world has not yet stood up and said “no” to this persecution. She feels that the G7 and the G20 should unite against the CCP as a whole. 

She called on the CCP authorities: “Stop the persecution! You should treat Chinese people better instead of selling their organs.”

“The CCP Is a Criminal Organization”

Local resident John said that he has paid attention to the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa and the organ harvesting from living practitioners for many years. “The persecution is still happening and it is unbelievable,” he said.

“This is a crime. The Communist Party is a criminal organization, just like the Nazis.”

He praised practitioners for exposing the persecution. “It’s right to let people know about the persecution. Many people still don’t know about it. The general media don’t report it at all. I learned about it from the Internet by myself. The persecution is really horrible.”

Montreal resident Jeff Florence said that those who remain silent in the face of the CCP’s persecution of human rights are as guilty as the persecutors.

“China's persecution of the Chinese people and the genocide of the Uyghur people are being watched by the world. Just like the massacres in history, the world was also watching. Because of commercial interests, people put money above lives. If this continues, the world will change.

“Don't take money so seriously,” Jeff said, “Trade relations and commercial interests with the CCP can temporarily benefit people in terms of power and money. However, if the government does not sanction such persecution, then it will be as guilty as the persecutors.”

“Why Does The CCP Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners?”

High school teacher Melanie said that she knew about Falun Dafa. “Practitioners do nothing wrong," she said, "they just do the exercises and improve themselves spiritually. Why does the CCP persecute them? It’s because in China, people have no freedom.”

She said that she taught some students from China and they told her that there was no freedom in China. However, today’s event was the first time she heard of the crime of live organ harvesting. “This is too bad. I will learn more about it.”

Oscar Chen signed the petition against the persecution, then said, “People need to pay attention to every injustice, and we need to make a change.”
