(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 29 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Qin Yali Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Ms. Qin Yali, 75, is a retired accountant. She was arrested at the end of 2021 and was sentenced to five years in prison by the Yingze County Court in September 2022. She is detained in the No. 4 Detention Center in Gujiao.

2. [Huai’an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhu Yunxia's Non-practitioner Family Member Xie Ruxian Persecuted

Ms. Zhu Yunxia, in her 50s, her non-practitioner family member Xie Ruxian, and Ms. Lin Fengying were arrested on October 5, 2022. Officers from the Haikou Road Police Station, the Xuyang Police Station, and the Economic Development District Police Department made the arrest. Their homes were ransacked, and they were held for more than 30 days in a detention center. They were released on bail on November 5, 2022. Xie Ruxian was notified on November 29 to go to the Haikou Road Police Station to get the decision to stop the investigation.

3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Han Lihua Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison

Ms. Han Lihua lives in Yangguang Jiacheng Community, Ranghulu District. She was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Ranghulu District Court. Because of her poor health, she was not taken away and is still at home.

4. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Zhen Arrested

Ms. Yu Zhen, an employee of Qilu Petrochemical Co., Ltd., was arrested by officers in Qidu Town in early November 2022.

5. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Seven Practitioners Tried in Court

Seven practitioners were arrested at the home of Mr. Zhao Juncheng by police in Baita District on December 8, 2021. They are Mr. Zhao Juncheng, his wife Bao Fengzhi, his younger sister Ms. Zhao Junlan, Li Ying, Cui Rong, Li Peixin from Anshan City, and Wang Juncheng. The practitioners were taken to the Liaoyang City Detention Center. They were tried in the Dengta Court on June 21 and 30, 2022. Li Peixin’s and Wang Cunbo’s cases were returned for re-investigation due to lack of evidence.

6. [Shanghai] Ms. Gu Jihong Placed Under 24-hour Surveillance

Ms. Gu Jihong was placed under 24-hour surveillance after she was released from prison.

7. [Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Li Tingchun Arrested and Detained

Li Tingchun from Yizheng City was arrested on July 26, 2022. Li was first detained in the Yizheng City Detention Center and was later transferred to the Jiangdu Detention Center around September 10, 2022.

Three officers went to Li’s home on the afternoon of December 1, 2022 to harass Li’s family members.

8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Lanfang Sentenced to Three and a Half Years in Prison

Ms. Yu Lanfang was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. She appealed the sentence and is waiting for the transcript from the trial from the intermediate court. Ms. Yu is currently detained in the No. 4 Detention Center in Suzhou City.

9. [Helong City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Jie and Her Sister Ms. Li Hong Arrested and Detained

Ms. Li Jie, from the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, was arrested by officers from the Guangming Police Station on June 25, 2022 and has been detained since then. Her sister Ms. Li Hong was arrested at the end of August 2022. The two sisters are detained in the Helong City Detention Center.

10. [Guang’an City, Sichuan Province] 11 Practitioners Arrested

Six practitioners from Guang’an District were arrested on the morning of November 9, 2022. They are Ms. Chan Qingling, Ms. Yang Chengfeng, Ms. Zhang Zongshu, Ms. Chen Chaoqiong, Ms. Wei Niang, and Ms. Xiang. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Yang Chengfeng was detained in the Dazhai Police Station in Guang’an District, but was later released on bail pending trial.

Ms. Peng Qingling, Ms. Xiang Tianxiu, and Mr. Tang Xiewen from Huaying City were arrested on November 23, 2022. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated over 5,000 yuan in cash from Ms. Xiang Tianxiu.

Mr. Deng Deyu from Guang’an District, 78, was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in a market. He was arrested at his home by officers on November 11, 2022. His home was ransacked. The police confiscated 290 yuan in paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong messages and a media player. He was taken to the Dazhai Police Station and was released on the evening of November 12, 2022.

Mr. Li Dayuan from Guang’an District, over 70, was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was arrested on November 11, 2022. He was released later that day.
