(Minghui.org) I often chat with my neighbor, and we talk about everything. She is kind and passionate and speaks her mind. I wanted to help her and her husband quit the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) and its youth organizations. I told her about the persecution of Falun Dafa and asked her to quit the Party. She immediately said she should not and that everything I said was nonsense.
For 20 years practitioners came to my house to read the Fa. I usually distribute materials in my district. After that conversation, I was worried about everyone’s safety so I stopped talking to her.
I realized that I had an attachment to fear. The old forces could use this to interfere with me. I immediately said, “This is not my thought and I do not want it.” I asked Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, to empower me and help eliminate the interference. Through studying the Fa, my xinxing improved and my fear was gone. I thought of a way to talk to her.
One day, my neighbor came over. She wept and said that she and her husband had an argument and were thinking of getting a divorce. I knew that those were just words said in anger. I said, “If you really want to divorce, then just divorce. But I think those are not your heartfelt words, right?”
She laughed and said, “I really don’t want a divorce but things are tough. You know I go to work at 4 a.m. every day. This is already difficult, but when I get home, I still have to cook the meals and clean the house. My husband does not work. He just sits home and plays on his mobile phone all day.”
I said, “You are very capable and have endured a lot. You manage the house so well. So, why does he treat you like that? When you are not happy, you speak like you are scolding him and you also swear. You shout in front of your son, so your husband loses face. He suppressed all this anger but finally lost his temper. If you change yourself first, respect him, talk to him kindly, and care for him, see what happens.”
After some time, my neighbor came back and said, “You are right! I did what you said and he really changed. Now, he cooks the meals and even cleans the house.” I said, “We cultivators talk about being magnanimous towards others and treating others with kindness. In the past, I also did not do well. After listening to Master’s words, I changed myself and treated others with kindness. My relationship with others has improved.”
Then my neighbor got a scam call telling her that the police had detained her son. She was told to transfer 700 thousand yuan to the police department immediately to bail him out. She planned to transfer the money. I happened to run into her and tried to persuade her that this was a scam and she should not believe it. She refused to listen to me. I told her that I would go with her to the police department and clarify the matter.
In the end, she discovered it really was a scam call. She and her husband were very thankful and said, “You are a good person.” I said, “I asked you to quit the CCP and its youth organizations solely for your own good. In the future, you will understand why.” Both of them immediately said they wanted to quit the Party. It took me three years to save them.
Eliminating My Attachment to Complaining
In 2014, my son married a girl from northeast China. They had twin boys and the in-laws moved to Beijing to look after the children. We paid the few thousand yuan in nanny fees. Even though we lived separately, over time, we developed some opinions about them. I felt that they put too much emphasis on material things and lied. They were both Party members. I thought of asking them to quit the CCP, but my husband and son did not agree. They were worried that it would affect their relationship.
I am a Dafa practitioner and saving people is my responsibility. Saving a life is what’s most important, and all other matters are trivial in comparison. Since we are in-laws, we must have a predestined relationship.
Master’s teachings increased my confidence in saving them. When I looked within, I realized that I hesitated not because my husband and son objected. I’d formed some opinions about them and had some complaints about them. I was also afraid of affecting my family relationships, etc.
I still have so many attachments! I felt that I let Master down. I must get rid of these attachments and save them.
I reminded myself that I cannot force people. Instead, I must be courteous and respectful and care for them. I kept sending righteous thoughts to eliminate any interference that kept them from being saved.
When we ate together, I asked them if they knew about Falun Dafa and that millions of Chinese already quit the CCP and its youth organizations. They immediately said, “We are Party members. The CCP pays us so we cannot object to it.” I said, “We are all one family, so I’m telling you this for your own good.”
After the topic was out in the open, I often found chances to occasionally say a few words about it. I hoped to awaken their kind thoughts, change their notions, and let them know the true nature of the Party. I kept sending righteous thoughts.
My son overextended his credit card and could not pay his debts. His house was to be sealed. They were very nervous and asked me to help them. Who would be willing to lend someone 600 thousand yuan?! I said I would help them. I decided to sell my house, move to the suburbs, and give them the leftover money so they could pay their debts.
The in-laws were very happy and said that almost no one they knew would have done that. They were really thankful. I said that I was a practitioner, that the house and money were just objects, and what matters is that they serve their purpose. The peace and safety of the whole family is what’s most important.
I also said, “We are a family, so I asked you to quit the CCP and its youth organizations for your own good.” As soon as I said this, they immediately agreed to quit.
Using Every Opportunity to Save People
Saving people is our responsibility, so I must make use of every opportunity and do it well.
I recently moved and my new house needs to be renovated. I felt that this was a good opportunity to clarify the truth. First, I told the property agents about the persecution. Some of them had joined the Youth League and Young Pioneers and they quit. Some never joined any of the CCP’s organizations, so they just accepted the information. Most of them did not know that Falun Dafa was being persecuted.
The equipment installers’ lives are really difficult. In order to pay for their children’s school fees, get married, and build homes, they work from early in the morning until late at night. Especially for those from other cities who come to work in Beijing, they are restricted and discriminated against. I really pitied them, so whenever they work overtime, I give them extra money or invite them to stay for a meal. They are all very grateful. I take this opportunity to clarify the truth to them and help them quit the CCP and its youth organizations. The results are usually very good.
My Story
Before I began practicing Dafa in 1996, my family relationships were not good and we had many conflicts. I also had health problems. I was often depressed and felt lost. I wanted to enter a monastery to escape life. One day, a friend gave me a book, Zhuan Falun, and suggested I read it.
When I opened the book, I saw Master’s benevolent smile and a surge of warmth went through my body from my head to my feet. When I read about cultivating one’s xinxing, my heart shuddered. I thought that this was just what I had been looking for. I finished reading the book that night and, much to my surprise, Master started to cleanse my body the following morning. Afterwards, I felt very relaxed and comfortable. I was astonished by the great powers of Falun Dafa!
My perspective of the world changed, and I was determined to cultivate myself. From then on, no matter what happened or how hard it was, I have not wavered. I will cultivate until I reach spiritual perfection.
During these more than 20 years, whenever tribulations arise, I recall Master’s words. I just read the Fa, cultivate myself, and do the three things. I distribute truth-clarifying materials and clarify the truth face-to-face. Whenever I encourage people to quit the CCP and its youth organizations, I try my best and do it with righteous thoughts. Master has always watched over me and protected me. I’ve faced danger many times but emerged unharmed. I always feel that Master is by my side.
One’s Fa study and cultivation are reflected in one’s ability to save people. When one studies the Fa in depth and looks within, his xinxing will improve very quickly and his righteous thoughts will naturally be strong. He will receive good results when he goes out to save sentient beings.
