(Minghui.org) Last October, an elderly Falun Dafa practitioner invited me to go with her to distribute Dafa desk calendars to the farmers in remote villages and also to urge them to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations. I agreed gladly.
It was a nice day. We studied one lecture of Zhuan Falun in the morning and left after we finished lunch and sent forth righteous thoughts.
She put some calendars in the basket on the front of her bicycle. I rode an electric bike and carried a big carton of calendars on the back rack. She led the way since she knew that area well. Whenever we saw someone in a field, she stopped, gave them a calendar, and told them about quitting the CCP organizations.
When we got to a village, she carried her bag and visited each home. She left a calendar at every one and clarified the truth to whoever was there.
Because I still had reservations about clarifying the truth face to face, I just stayed on the road and kept an eye on the bicycles. I only selectively gave people calendars and told them facts about Falun Dafa when they passed by.
She rode quickly to the next village once she finished distributing and telling people the facts about Dafa in the previous village. The roads in the villages had a lot of potholes and were very uneven. It did not take her much effort to climb the steep hills, and on long downhills, she flew.
She is 75 years old, but she seemed much younger. She follows Master’s advice to not miss a single person with a predestined relationship and talks to whoever she sees about Falun Dafa.
She rides a bicycle several dozen miles at a time and never feels tired. Often she has to do work around the farm such as plant vegetables and water plants after she gets home from these trips.
By comparison, I am more than 20 years younger than she is, and I sometimes feel tired even though I ride an electric bike; I am embarrassed when I compare myself to her.
Not only does she distribute calendars and Dafa pamphlets (she has distributed thousands of them this year), she also has a Fa study group at home.
Her husband has passed away, and her daughters are all married. Her only income is the low-income insurance she gets every month, but her home has essentially become a shelter for persecuted practitioners. Practitioners stay at her home for a while whenever they run into trouble. She always takes good care of them.
A few practitioners live a bit far from her house, but they still often go to her home for lunch and join the group Fa study afterwards. Some practitioners want to bring food, but she declines.
What a precious and respectable practitioner! Every time I see or think of her, I feel I need to work harder to follow in her footsteps.
I remind myself with Master’s instruction:
“Study the Fa and gain the Fa,Focus on how you study and cultivate,Let each and every thingbe measured against the Fa.Only then, with that,is it actually cultivation.”(“Solid Cultivation,” Hong Yin)
