(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners from 35 countries held a march in Warsaw on September 10, 2022, to introduce the meditation practice and raise awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. The long procession passed through several streets and reached Warsaw’s Old City.
Practitioners held a grand march in Warsaw.
Maria Wek who teaches at a local university noticed the march and asked her husband to take photos. She explained the words on the banners to her son, who is seven years old.
“Thank you so much for your march,” she said. “It’s very peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. A lot of people were wearing yellow clothes. I like the color, which makes me think of happiness and vitality.”
“The persecution should not happen in the 21st century.” She said that it was wrong for the CCP to not allow practitioners to be good people.
Her husband took many photos and said he would post them on social media because “This new information is important to our friends. Keep it up as this is important to everyone.”
Practitioners conducted group practice and a candlelight vigil in the Old City in the evening, which also caught the attention of many passersby. They expressed their support by signing a petition calling for an end to the persecution.
March of practitioners in WarsawPassersby learned about Falun Dafa and how the practice is persecuted in China.
Olena, a bar manager from Ukraine, and her mother and aunt watched the march. “I started a video recording and I burst into tears during the process.” Olena started to choke up again while speaking. She said that she agreed with the practitioners’ request to end the persecution. She believed that the march was, “Very good, meaningful, and made a very loud voice to express your demands. We Ukrainians stand with you.”
Milena, a pharmacy assistant from northern Poland, was also moved by the march and said, “The theme touched me very much. So many people come here to show that.”
Ewa, an English teacher, had some understanding of Falun Dafa from the various activities held by practitioners in the Old City. Through the march, she learned more.
“The music and colors make me feel calm,” Ewa said. “The march is important to let more people know the relevant information. I hope more marches like this are held. We need more of these peaceful, informed protests in Warsaw. A lot of people still don’t understand the message.”
Signing the petition in the evening
Practitioners held activities that evening. One woman who signed the petition said, “I’m appalled by the facts of the persecution that are presented here. I’m stunned that so many people are persecuted in a society like this, far more than people think.”
She wished to help by signing the petition. She said, “We must fight against such persecution.” She also took some leaflets so she could tell more people.
“I can’t fight against the persecution in person. But when I see injustice, especially when there was a massacre and organ harvesting, I have to take action,” said Alexander, an undergraduate student, after signing the petition. “I wish all this persecution can be stopped.”
Igor Klok, who works in the insurance industry, is from Ukraine and signed the petition in his city to support practitioners’ efforts. He said, “Practitioners are so peaceful that there is no reason to persecute them. Everyone should have the right to do these peaceful things.”
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 23 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
