(Minghui.org) A Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province resident was sentenced to three years for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Gao Chongwen, also known as Gao Yuan, is a delivery worker in his 50s. He was arrested on August 13, 2020, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. His computer and other personal items were confiscated. He was held at the Lingyuan City Detention Center. His arrest and detention dealt his mother in her 70s a hard blow and deprived her of his care.
It’s recently learned that Mr. Gao is now being held in the prison complex in Shenyang City to serve out the remainder of his three-year sentence. He is scheduled to be released in August 2023.
The perpetrators involved in Mr. Gao’s case are Wu Hong, the former head of the Lingyuan City Police Department, Luo Fenglong, the president of Lingyuan City Court, Yao Huihong, the president of Lingyuan City Procuratorate and Yang Chaohui, the secretary of Lingyuan City Political and Legal Affairs Committee.
