(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Liu Zhongyi was arrested two weeks ago when he removed slogans that slandered Falun Gong in Hubin Park in the Shuangzitai District. After he was missing for several days his family went to the police department and learned that he had been arrested.
The cases against Mr. Meng Fanzeng and Ms. Zhang Xiuqin were submitted to the Gaoxin District Court on October 8, 2023. Both practitioners have been released on bail pending trial.
Wu Jingkun will be tried in court on October 17, 2023.
Ms. Wu Qiuqin was followed around all day by a man in his forties on September 19, 2023. The man followed Ms. Wu and took photos of her. He claimed that he was assigned to do this and needed to upload her photo to his supervisor.
Ms. Wu was harassed at home at 10 a.m. on October 8, 2023 by some people including officer Yuan Kai and Yao Lijun, director of the Complaints Office. When a plainclothes officer tried to photograph her, she stopped him.
Ms. Li Xiuling, 66, was reported to police for distributing pamphlets and was arrested by officers from the Beiyuan Police Station on October 3, 2023. She was released later that night after she underwent a medical examination and was found to be in poor health.
Ms. Hao Yuhong from Jiagedaqi was arrested on September 13, 2023. She was sent to the Jiagedaqi Detention Center.
Mr. Gao Tiwen was arrested by officers from the Fengniancun Police Station in the Dongli District on September 26, 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was detained for one week in the Dongli District Detention Center and was released on October 2, 2023.
Mr. Li Wanbiao was detained for two years and was released from the Gongzhuling Prison in December 2022. Even though he was incarcerated and persecuted, Mr. Li refused to give up practicing Falun Gong. After he was released, officer Xi from the Binjiang Police Station kept harassing him and his family. Xi called Mr. Li’s wife multiple times trying to locate him. He and other police officers repeatedly went to Mr. Li’s home, looking for him. The latest home harassment took place at 6 p.m. on October 7, 2023, and at 1:40 p.m. on October 8, 2023. They knocked on the door but Mr. Li’s son refused to open it.
