(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 27 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Six practitioners—Ms. Li Mingxia, Ms. Zheng Zhimei, Ms. Li Yeshu, Mr. Luo Bingxin, Ms. Xu Huancui, and Ms. Li Hongmei—will be tried at 9 a.m. on October 26, 2023.
Ten practitioners were arrested in their homes by Xupu County police officers on the evening of October 16, 2023. They are Zhang Xiaoying, Zhang Chunyan, Mao Yanping, Shu Qiuju, Chen Deshun, Yang Lanying, Shu Wanlan, Wen Guihua, Zhang Meiying, and Wang Juying. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated their Falun Gong books, truth clarifying materials, and other personal belongings. Three of the practitioners were released. It is unknown where the others are detained.
Sun Rong from Gongjiado Village in the Zhifu District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in the village and was arrested by Zhichu Police Station officers on the afternoon of October 18, 2023. Officers from the Yantai City Police Department took Sun away the next day. It is unknown where Sun was detained.
Ms. Shen Xiaohui, Ms. Shen Jinfeng, and Ms. Dai Cuiying have been missing for nearly a month. It is possible they were arrested and taken to a brainwashing center.
Mr. Li Jian from the Tongzhou District was arrested on October 12, 2023, for handing someone a CD. He is being held in the Tongzhou District Detention Center.
Mr. Han Ximin and his wife Ms. Du Qingxiu will be tried for the second time on October 30, 2023.
Ms. Yang Zhongshen was reported to the police for distributing information about Falun Gong. Xincheng District officers arrested her during the National Day holiday this year. She was released the same evening.
The police went to her parents’ home several times in the following days but never found Ms. Yang. They wanted to know where she got her Falun Dafa materials and wanted her to go to the police station.
Ms. Liang Cuirong from the Jinshantun District was released from the Harbin City Women’s Prison on October 14, 2023. She had been incarcerated for seven and a half years.
Ms. Liu Pintong was sentenced to 18 months in prison and fined 5000 yuan by the Shuncheng District Court. She has filed an appeal.
