(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Xu Lixia and her younger sister Ms. Xu Liping were arrested by officers from the Yushan District Police Department in mid-October 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Xu Lixia passed away the day after she was released. Her family wanted an explanation and refused to agree to cremation but they had no way to appeal. Ms. Xu’s body was cremated on November 5, 2023. Her sister Ms. Xu Liping is still being held in the detention center.
Ms. Su Guiying will be tried in the Chikan District Court at 3 p.m. on November 15, 2023.
The case against Ms. Wang Lanying from Fangshan District was submitted to the Fangshan District Procuratorate by Officer Fu Minghui and Yin Dejian from the Gongchen Police Station on November 1, 2023.
Ms. Zheng Jing, 46, was arrested by officers from the Shunhua Road Police Station on October 9, 2023, and her home was ransacked. The police confiscated a Falun Gong book and two amulets. Ms. Zheng was detained for ten days.
Ms. Zhong Huifang, almost 70, was arrested on the same day. She was detained for 15 days.
Ms. Kong Qingping had two hearings online, on April 11 and September 22, 2023. A third hearing is to be held in the Ganjingzi District Court at 1:30 p.m. on November 10, 2023.
Ms. Cui Yaning was arrested by officers in Linghai City on the afternoon of October 24, 2023. She was detained for ten days.
Ms. Pan Yanjun was tried in the Dehui City Court on July 13, 2023. She received the verdict on August 18, 2023 and learned that she was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. Ms. Pan appealed on August 25, 2023. Her case was filed in the Changchun City Intermediate Court.
Ms. Li Ling who lives near Baliqiao, was seen on surveillance cameras when she was distributing information about Falun Gong and was arrested. She was released later due to her high blood pressure.
Ms. Jiang Guilan was detained for 30 days and released on October 21, 2023.
Mr. Wang Qinghua was taken to the Changli Procuratorate to sign some documents on August 17, 2023. He returned home later that day. His pension was suspended in October 2023 because he is on bail pending trial.
Ms. Jin Runfang from Jiading District, 76, recently found that two people dressed in black were loitering downstairs at her home to monitor her around the clock.
12. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Case Against Ms. Li Shuang Submitted to the Procuratorate
Ms. Li Shuang was arrested by officers from the Gulou Police Station in the Dongchangfu District on May 13, 2023. Her home was ransacked, and she was taken to the police station and interrogated. After being released on bail pending trial, she was told to report to the police every day and would be detained if she missed three days. She was not allowed to leave the Dongchangfu District. Her case was submitted to the Dong’a District Procuratorate in mid-October 2023.
Ms. Liu Junhua, a retired doctor from Nanchong Petroleum University, will be tried in the Shunqing District Court at 3 p.m. on November 14, 2023.
Mr. Luan Maoquan, previously reported as Mr. Luan Jingsheng, was placed under official arrest in late October 2023. He was sent to the Benxi City Detention Center.
Ms. Yang Jinfeng from Tonghua County was reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials on November 6, 2023. She was arrested at home by police at noon on November 7, 2023, and her home was ransacked. The police confiscated four media players, several memory cards, a cell phone, and the keys to her home. She was interrogated for three hours in the Xijiang Police Station. She refused to cooperate or answer any questions. She was placed under a ten-day detention but was denied admission by the detention house due to the results from her physical exam. She returned home at around 10 p.m.
