(Minghui.org) November 19, 2023, marks the 19th anniversary since the book the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published. The book details the brutality and lies of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and analyzes how communism brought wars, hunger, and tragedy to the people under its totalitarian rule. After recognizing the CCP’s vicious nature, a large number of residents in mainland China decided to sever ties with the CCP.
To help more people know the true nature of the CCP, Falun Dafa practitioners outside China spent a lot of effort raising awareness of the persecution of the practice in mainland China and helping residents know the facts about their faith. They did this at tourist sites, made phone calls, and used the internet. Through these efforts, over 420 million Chinese people have agreed to separate themselves from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, the Youth League and Young Pioneers.
Cheng, a practitioner in Taipei, often makes phone calls to people in mainland China. The following are some of her experiences.
Learning the Facts
Hu Xinyu, a high school student in Qianshan County, Jiangxi Province, missed school in October 2022 and was later found dead. Many clues indicated that he might have been killed for his organs, but the CCP authorities strictly censored information and discussion about his case.
When Cheng called a security guard named Bin, they discussed Hu’s case and the possibility of organ harvesting, a crime that targets Falun Dafa practitioners. Cheng explained that the spiritual practice of Falun Dafa is well-received in over 110 countries around the world and yet is brutally suppressed in China. Bin was surprised to hear that many practitioners were from mainstream society, including highly educated people.
Bin said this conversation negated the defamatory propaganda spread by the CCP. In the end, he agreed to quit the CCP organizations using a pseudonym for his safety. He agreed to pass on the information he learned to friends and relatives.
On November 6, 2023, a major snowstorm hit Northeast China, causing a sudden temperature drop. This led to the closure of 25 highways in the area, the shutdown of schools, and the cancellation of more than 400 flights in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province.
When Cheng called the region, a resident named Li answered the call. They discussed the tragedy that occurred when the roof of a school gym collapsed, killing the students undergoing a training session. But the school and officials covered it up, didn’t accept any responsibility, and blocked the parents from seeking justice.
Cheng told Li about many other tragedies the CCP caused. She said that renouncing membership in the regime would bring her safety in the future. Li agreed to quit the Youth League and Young Pioneers. She also said she would recite the phrases, “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
Ding is a retired government officer in Shanghai who said he had not heard about quitting the CCP movement. When Cheng told him about it, he had lots of questions and even brought up some of the propaganda the CCP used to slander Falun Dafa.
Cheng answered Ding’s questions one by one, including what really happened during the staged self-immolation incident at Tiananmen Square and the peaceful appeal in Beijing on April 25, 1999. She told him the practice had benefited people in over 110 countries. She also read him the article “Stay Rational,” written by Falun Dafa’s founder, and explained that the pandemic came to target the CCP and its followers.
Surprised by this information, Ding listened carefully to what she said. He took a deep breath and said, “I did not know any of this, and thank you very much for telling me. Otherwise, I would still be fooled.” He agreed to quit the CCP using a pseudonym and said he would keep in mind the phrases “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
Cheng noticed that a person named Min, a resident of Beijing often uploaded high-quality traditional classical music to the internet. Cheng called her, and they discussed the miraculous effect of music on people’s minds and talked about Shen Yun’s music. Min was very excited. She said she rarely met anyone who understood music so well.
From the popularity of Shen Yun performances around the world to the traditional values and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance promoted by Falun Dafa, Cheng talked about how the CCP harmed innocent citizens, including its genocide of Falun Gong practitioners. When the regime is phased out because of its crimes, anyone associated with it will be in danger unless they renounce their membership. Min said she understood and decided to quit the CCP’s Youth League and Young Pioneers. She also hoped to talk with Cheng again in the future.
Saving a Life
Song is a peasant from Hubei Province who went to the city looking for a job. Upon hearing Cheng was calling from overseas, he said, “I owe lots of money and have no food to eat now. I feel like killing myself. Can you send me some money?” Cheng told him that counting on others for help would not work and it is better to make money by working hard.
“Even though you do not have much money, please do not underestimate yourself,” Cheng continued. “Everyone comes to this world for a reason, and our parents always hope we will be good. Please do not think about ending your life.”
After Song calmed down, Cheng told him the importance of doing good deeds and preserving virtue. By severing ties with the vicious CCP and reciting the phrases “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” one will be blessed with health and prosperity.
In the end, Song said he would like to renounce his membership in the Young Pioneers. “Thank you for your kind words. I will take care of myself and do better.”
Wanting to Read Falun Dafa Books
After helping Qin quit the CCP organizations, Cheng continued talking with him and explained that Falun Dafa is practiced in over 110 countries. In addition, thousands of proclamations, resolutions, and supporting letters have been issued around the world. The main teachings in Zhuan Falun have been translated into 50 languages.
Surprised by these facts, Qin said he would like to read Zhuan Falun and other Dafa books. But he also knew these books were not available in China due to the persecution. Cheng offered to give him the software that overcomes the internet blockade so he could download the books himself. But Qin said he did not know how to use the software. Cheng read some paragraphs from the books for him. He thanked her and said he wished to meet with practitioners in his area to learn more about the practice.
